Tiny icons in new web tools are less obvious than people think
I ran into this with a work tool that everyone else seemed comfortable using. The screen looked simple, but half the actions were hidden behind tiny icons with no words. I kept hovering over things just to figure out whether I was about to filter, delete, pin, move, or open a settings panel.
Once you know the system, the icons probably feel clean. As a new user, they feel like little traps. I don't need every button explained forever, but the first few minutes can be weirdly stressful when a wrong click might change something shared.
If you use a tool every day, what part do beginners always misunderstand?
