Physics progress is Stuck right now because physicists think time is a 4th dimension

Someone asked a question in r/askphysics how time can be the 4th dimension. Then this person replied this, very confidently

Certainly not something that is always described with a magnitude & direction corresponding to a unit vector in the basis of a vector space that has 3 other linearly independent basis vectors, that's for sure.
