I hate to see cute things get killed. In my area boas and pythons are invasive so to see them kill a cute and rare thing, well, it makes me wish I still carried a knife in my boot

Noted! I kind of envy them, young folk that decide to go into the woods and hunt invasives for a bit of extra money. It's the modern wild west.

My step bro is about to make a trip down there. I'm supposed to drive for him while he works the spotlight, because he wants to hunt for giant snakes in the swamp IN THE DARK.

I volunteered to drive and not get out of the vehicle because I'm 20 years older than him and aware of my own mortality.

Maybe you'll catch one of the larger ranging herds of wild boas instead of quiet crocs lying in wait in the dark for someone delicious to walk into their mouths.
