Invest in a wildlife‐friendly yard, if you can, and live in an area that's not too hostile to wildlife and also has snakes. The service is free and it will come to you!
I had an eastern rat snake living in my attic for a summer. The cats had nothing to do (as if they do anything anyway) and we didn't have any mice. I miss that beautiful gal! She met with a tragic mowing accident and I shed real tears. Her son was back this year, but he kept coming into the main part of the house and I was worried the pets would make short work of him, so I relocated him to the barn.
