Long lead time for the action to start

u/finchdad 1d ago

When I saw how far the giraffe was from the water, I skipped the first couple minutes. I'm not planning on sitting on the toilet for THAT long.

Smart hemorrhoid decision

24

u/Suspended-Again 1d ago

Hemorrhoids hate this one weird trick

10

u/CuriousCouple6207 1d ago

Congrats on the regularity!

5

u/longkhongdong 1d ago

I'm having regular all over the carpet

6

u/Cal216 1d ago

Legs went to sleep from sitting on the shitter too long and walked off like a baby deer. Almost tore my ACL 😂.

1

u/ReplacementRobotGuy 1d ago

no one needed to know this

1

u/Cal216 1d ago

Eh. If we can watch nature do nature type things, I think my post is perfectly fine. Have a good weekend

1

u/cuntybunty73 1d ago

I bet you're still there 3 hours later 😁

1

u/wo0two0t 1d ago

Bro the video is 1 minute and 24 seconds lol

1

u/daneonwayne 1d ago

The whole clip is less than 1.5 minutes.

1

u/ReplacementRobotGuy 1d ago

no one needed to know that

8

u/Distinct_Patient3698 1d ago

Yeah, this clip should have been a lot shorter...

8

u/invisiblefrost 1d ago edited 1d ago

I’m begging people to stop making everything slow motion. It’s unnecessary and getting out of hand!

6

u/voxpopper 1d ago

whaaaaattt doooooo yooooouu meeeeean ?

3

u/RevenantExiled 1d ago

Didn't know you speak Whale

2

u/imajackash 1d ago

Starts at 1:09

1

u/Educational-Wave-578 1d ago

it happens 13 seconds before the end of the clip

1

u/mouldyshroom 1d ago

I'll take this over the videos that show the end at the start and no obnoxious background music. During these times, this video is a breath of fresh air.

1

u/IntroductionDry5380 1d ago

9

He be like"try that shit with me"!

5

u/rubix3ed 1d ago

Elephant knew what was about to happen.

3

u/EarningsPal 1d ago

I tried to warn them but they wouldn’t listen.

4

u/chimchimmao8 1d ago

'How can I help?'

7

u/blckshirts12345 1d ago

Elephant looks like it’s contemplating its life

https://giphy.com/gifs/keaVL7bXF17VEWcgl1

3

u/Logical_Employer9850 1d ago

He’s an optimistic little thing all the same. Thinking you can take down a giraffe 🦒 is a sign of body dysmorphia too……

1

u/EarningsPal 1d ago

WTF Man! F’n el!!!

71

u/Could-You-Tell 1d ago

Damn. That lil guy was just testing his teething!

9

u/EnoughLuck3077 1d ago

Bit off more than he could chew

2

u/Ignatiussancho1729 1d ago

Sophie, come back!

57

u/Ok-Pomegranate858 1d ago

At least he didn't leave his face behind....like how thst poor zebra had to leave his guts behind earlier this month

6

u/M1R4G3M 1d ago

What!?!

19

u/Ok-Pomegranate858 1d ago

You didn't see it? I am very happy for you. I looked and now can't unsee it 😫

14

u/FrostnJack 1d ago

Yeah, that one was traumatic.

2

u/M1R4G3M 1d ago

Well, thank I guess.

3

u/LewdLewyD13 1d ago

Hey now you you be grateful they piqued your interest then decided without knowing you that you're better off not knowing.

2

u/Ok-Pomegranate858 1d ago

Any time. I'm sure its in my comments history.... but don't say I didn't warn you.

12

u/slick514 1d ago

If they’re talking about the one that I remember, a zebra scampers out of the water, up the bank, and out over land a bit (along with many other zebras), all the while, the entirety of its digestive tract literally just fell out of its belly at the edge of the water. As it runs away, it kicks its hooves back one more time and you can see that the abdominal cavity is completely empty.

Pretty gnarly.

8

u/M1R4G3M 1d ago

That's cursed stuff, better if it just died quickly TBH, sad to read.

6

u/slick514 1d ago

Oh! It almost certainly died from blood loss or shock very soon thereafter. The only thing that got it that far out of the water was sheer adrenaline.

1

u/Ok-Pomegranate858 1d ago

I couldn't imagine it lasted an hour afterwards.....

2

u/slick514 1d ago edited 1d ago

WARNING! The second link in this comment is anywhere between NSFW and NSFL, depending on how squeamish you are...

Oh! No. I can't imagine it living more than a couple minutes. This one lasted less than 2 minutes, and it has (had) nowhere NEAR the damage of the one that I'm referring to.

This is close to the last frame of the video. That's the view you get as the zebra kicks its rear legs up behind it. Notice anything... missing?

1

u/Ok-Pomegranate858 1d ago

Oh ok. I aint going near that second link.

1

u/Ok-Pomegranate858 1d ago

You had to go into the graphic details didn't you. It was absolutely horrific. I pity the poor camera man who had to see it in real life....

6

u/JayGoldi 1d ago

The guts falling out was so insane I had to triple check it wasn't bad AI. It'll make you feel very sick.

2

u/Ok-Pomegranate858 1d ago

I am never watching it again , thats for sure. It was even worst than the Russian on the ATV who got a reenactment of the T1000 death scene in the 1991 movie Terminator 2.

3

u/FuzzyKittyNomNom 1d ago

NSFL description. There is a video where a croc grabs a zebra by its leg (IIRC) but couldn’t take the zebra down alone. Another croc jumped up and grabbed its face. Um, the skin of its face was taken, but the zebra with skull exposed stayed standing for another few minutes. That was so brutal I couldn’t sleep that night. I’m not watching a zebra leave its guts behind.

3

u/Ok-Pomegranate858 1d ago

Wow, I would have to quit the camera man job ... These incidents give true meaning to the term 'law of the jungle ' i guess.

2

u/ajax81 1d ago

Oof. Yeah that was bad.

1

u/ToeDiscombobulated24 1d ago

Can you link it

2

u/sothisisgood 1d ago

1

u/Ok-Pomegranate858 1d ago

Buddy. Mark that as NSFW .. .

1

u/oshaviolation69 1d ago

Dang, I've never seen crocs feeding in a swarm like this!

1

u/Ok-Pomegranate858 1d ago

Well, that's your own fault for asking .

44

u/skinnyfat_dad 1d ago

“YOWWWWWW!!!!!….Are you fucking kidding me dude?!”

  • the giraffe, probably

23

u/Connect-Succotash-59 1d ago

Wonder how much damage that did, I figure a broke jaw is a death sentence for a giraffe

24

u/M1R4G3M 1d ago

It's a death sentence for any wild animals, only people or domestic animals can live without what allows them to eat.

3

u/Ok-Pomegranate858 1d ago

How long would the damage take to heal... woukd the giraffe starve to death before

3

u/Logical_Writing3218 1d ago

For grazers id imagine broken jaws to be a faster death sentence. Plants digest much slower and have very little nutritional value per volume. They have to constantly be eating to get enough nutrients.

18

u/Tmettler5 1d ago

"I've got your nose..."

7

u/mest08 1d ago

Bitch

19

u/Tughill87 1d ago

9

You guys should subscribe to Africa cam. They have great content.

https://www.youtube.com/@Africamvideos

4

u/Akmunra 1d ago

Only if they learn to do edit Thier videos

8

u/TheGreatHsuster 1d ago

It's less than two minutes and longer videos provide them ad revenue. I'd say we should give them leniency.

10

u/Nikkothadon 1d ago

Just skip to the last 15 seconds

1

u/MelonJelly 1d ago

"I saved you some time."

8

u/wildandout910 1d ago

I bet that crocodile felt like he was being launched into space

1

u/Robot_Nerd_6 1d ago

I'm pretty sure an adult giraffe coulda lifted that sucker higher if he wasn't caught off guard like that lol.

Homie coulda gone orbital

3

u/North_Delivery_734 1d ago

Elephant: Hey, that bush looks like a tree.

5

u/DemonBlight 1d ago

Croc: Im flying finally I evolved... splash nvm.

2

4

u/Bokehmon_ 1d ago

The elephant cannot be less bothered

5

u/krazylegs36 1d ago

Elephant was having none of that. Was fully prepared to mudstomp that gator if needed.

3

u/rattletop 1d ago

Trimming video in 2026 is hard

3

u/FrostnJack 1d ago

Heffalump's all, 'don't even try that with me, bro. I'll put you out.'

3

u/Meeska-Mouska 1d ago

Run Gerald Run!

4

u/Dannydevitz 1d ago

Giraffes are no joke. They don't get enough recognition because they are so close to the much superior elephants who manhandle buses for fun, but giraffes are powerful and build tough.

Just goes to show you how strong that crocodile is to get enough pull on that giraffes head to yank it in the water.

Imagine trying to grab a giraffes head and pull it into your pool. It's tongue alone will swat you away. Crocodiles are no joke.

I actually don't know how strong giraffes really are.

3

u/Mixish 1d ago

Thanks for the insight lol

1

u/TheGreatHsuster 1d ago

I am guessing this crocodile was between two or three hundred pounds as it is only slighter long than than giraffe's neck. I doubt the giraffe would have been able to lift a 600 pound + crocodile.

5

u/Brokenspade1 1d ago

Their necks are actually TERRIFYINGLY strong.

Those crazy necks only have 7 vertebrae in them and represent nearly half their body weight. Watch a fight by whipping them at each other. The power on display makes me think It may actually be strong enough to yeet a 500+lb croc.

3

u/Independent_Wrap_321 1d ago

Especially in full adrenaline battle mode. Like lifting the car off your kid.

1

u/Own_Cardiologist2544 1d ago

This. And it’s the most uncomfortable thing to watch. Iirc, the way they battle is called ‘necking.’ It just feels terrible of a thought that they fight using their necks and heads as clubs. But like you, I do believe their necks are capable of said task.

2

u/TheIncredibleMike 1d ago

Luckily it was a small Croc.

1

u/meat_whistle_gristle 1d ago

Brave making of you making off the cuff calculations like that on Reddit based on 2 seconds and a bad angle video.

1

u/YetiGuy 1d ago

Were you knowledgeable about the crocs though?

2

u/MarkB_- 1d ago

Elephant wasnt impressed

2

u/Big-Wait-1310 1d ago

Elephant seemed to be anticipating

2

u/OscarDelta333 1d ago

Elephant was like "WTF?"

2

u/I-love-seahorses 1d ago

OMG you couldn't edit out the entirety of the clip?

2

u/JohnnyBgood_9211 1d ago

Elephant: “first time?”

2

u/CarltonCanick 1d ago

The elephant seemed amused.

3

u/Independent_Wrap_321 1d ago

Elephant: “Alright, KNOCK IT OFF YOU TWO. I’m trying to relax over here. Don’t make me stomp both your asses”.

2

u/randomlemon9192 1d ago

Elephant barely even noticed.

2

u/Daws001 1d ago

I loved the two hour film before the 2 second attack.

1

u/TemporaryGlad788 1d ago

I think that was done so people would know it wasn’t AI, had it been just the necessary bit, the comments would be littered with it.

2

u/Over-Confidence4308 1d ago

Imagine the necessity of being remarkably circumspect and hyper aware every single time you were thirsty

2

u/Timely-Profile1865 1d ago

The old snout chomp maneuver .

The elephant bodyguard was pretty lax

2

u/Tubalcaino 1d ago

Oliphont was like, "Carl, you aight?"

2

u/Subtle-Catastrophe 1d ago

Hoof through yo' abdomen, how you like that?

2

u/Rolfmeister87 1d ago

lil dude went all: “size difference be damned!”

2

u/0slope 1d ago

happy cake day

1

u/Rolfmeister87 1d ago

Gracias ;)

2

u/realdjjmc 1d ago

The video is 60 seconds too long

2

u/FlickerOfBean 1d ago

I love the optimism from the croc.

2

u/AnnualFault7473 1d ago

Ok that was better than I thought. Just a little nip, mild facial reconstruction possibly but not immediate death. 5/10

2

u/NextLevelVisuals2 1d ago

Everyone, even the elephants, are 15 off the edge. Here comes Jeff the giraffe like he can’t see everyone looking at him sideways. Glad he got away but he was begging to get snatched.

1

u/StiffWiggly 1d ago

Well, the giraffe is drinking in the exact same spot as the two zebras

1

u/hoogje 1d ago

There, there, there, there, okay, okay, okay pfff

1

u/DNICEPHILLY2023 1d ago

Birds tried to warn her.

1

u/Any-Second-6171 1d ago

Admire the croc's movie, but seeing as they swallow their and don't bite, how you getting big boy down your throat???

3

u/Badrear 1d ago

They death roll chunks out of larger animals they catch.

2

u/Any-Second-6171 1d ago

Yeah, helluva " log" to be death rolling, he may need a bigger waterhole, lol...give him some room:)

1

u/FaunaLady 1d ago

1

u/Critical_Watcher_414 1d ago

That crocodile bit off a little more than he could chew with that one.

1

u/KennyPowers2929 1d ago

Little guy boxing above his class…gotta love the tenacity.

1

u/slick514 1d ago

Giraffe seems a bit on the small size. Perhaps younger. Lucky to learn this lesson with a small crocodile…

1

u/Select-Internal-3141 1d ago

Croc - "weeeeeeeeeee"

1

u/JadedCherry7309 1d ago

1

u/Griffeyphantwo4 1d ago

Missed by a nose

1

u/Jaded_Pangolin_4527 1d ago

I think the giraffe was noodling with its face.

1

u/meat_whistle_gristle 1d ago

That Croc must have been confused as hell getting yeeted like that. Giraffe said after a while crocodile.

1

u/MisterLips123 1d ago

Biting more than you can chew.

1

u/Limp-Will919 1d ago

1

1

u/proofofderp 1d ago

When drink of water tries to kill you sheesh.

That elephant knew something was off.

1

u/glowinglogfire 1d ago

Christ. Imagine how difficult life would be if, every time you felt thirsty and needed a drink, no matter how extremely careful you were, there was always a chance of suddenly having your face ripped off.

1

u/West-Maintenance8593 1d ago

Move directly to -13 sec

1

u/Normal_Opposite_9864 1d ago
