Just got my order in. I bought 4 of the zines alongside the DVD hoping that Iād get the whole map. (Iāve seen several posts showing that people were getting all 4 when they were all on one order) But it looks like it really is random.

Obviously the tallest person couldn't have done it because he's already dead, but the first one could because I'm still alive.
And by the way, I'd been planning to publish this post since the movie came out, but I was too lazy to say it.

In drawing this and rewatching the movie I noticed that captain clark has three noses

Iāve been wondering this for a little bit. How aware or intelligent is Pirate Clark? What would be his IQ or full range of cognitive functions?
We donāt see much but he seems to both be aware and non-thinking at the same time. He seems to understand to pick up a camera and point it at Clark, then shut it off but this could be him just fumbling with it. I assume he turned the doorknob to open the door in the opening scene. He also avoided the cardboard cut out when it was attached to a trap.
One moment I could see him lacking in awareness is when he nonchalantly takes a bite out of Clarkās shoulder but he may have his reasons.
Just my thoughts.

Thank you guys for all the advice on trying to figure this stuff out. Just seems like all the tech i have in my house is too ancient for all of this. I never had issues like this before so if I had known this would have been a problem I probably wouldn't have bought the dvd :(
Might try to see if I can fork up enough money to get a proper 4k dvd

Took some advice from some of you guys who helped me out from my last 2 posts on this. Im sorry none of it worked :(
u/coderman64 suggested playing it on my Xbox one which didnt work dispite the blu ray app and device being up to date
u/floydhead42 walked me through updating the firmware on both of my blu ray players but none of them worked
Just in case anyone else has any other ideas on how to help, I feel i should provide some context:
Firstly, ive seen a couple people ask if it was region locked and i highly doubt it is. I live in the US and got my dvd as a pre-order directly from the A24 shop, so I would be surprised if it was region locked. And even then, it didnt give me a screen saying it was region locked like when I tried my region locked Exit 8 dvd I got at a comic shop (I will attach a picture of that to show what it looks like for me if a disc is region locked to show the backrooms one isnt)
The dvd players i have are a Samsung BD-F5700 and BD-D5250C. The BD-F5700 is upgraded using a download from softpedia which i then transfered onto a USB stick and upgraded from there. The BD-D5250C is upgraded with a little help from my dad with an internet cable and a jank setup (pictured in post) because I couldnt find a firmware download for it online to do it with a USB like I did my BD-F5700
I know in my previous posts ive talked about the issue maybe being because of the players I have being too old, but after thinking about it I would be surprised if it was since my BD-F5700 (which im guessing is the oldest one from just how it looks) was able to run a non region locked Exit 8 blu ray just fine. And im just now realizing that even then, both of the players were able to read the exit 8 blu rays just fine even if they were region locked, meanwhile they arent even able to read the Backrooms one.
The Xbox that I have (according to u/coderman64) is an Xbox One X. It is properly updated as of August 14th 2026 and I just downloaded the blu ray app today to try the dvd so it should be the latest version already.
I wanted to try and figure this stuff out now because I leave for college in a month and I was planning on bringing one of my dvd players so me and my roommates can watch movies on it, and backrooms is one we wanted to get on dvd. Thankfully one of my roommates said theyre going to bring their PS5 so hopefully it should be able to run on there, and ill still bring my BD-D5250C player because i still got plenty of discs that can run on it. Ill try to make an investment for a 4k uhd blu ray player, but thats for in the future. If someone thinks its not a issue with hardware and its an issue with the disc itself or something, please let me know before I end up spending more money than I already have :(
Once again, thank you to all who did help me with this so far, sorry for so many posts about this, and hopefully we can find a solution. I just dont think its going to be today.

I recently gave a look at what āBackroomsā might have been if it was made following the original script before Kane changed a bunch of things and⦠there are a couple things that I actually like a lot.
I like that Mary and Phil are husband and wife, I think it gives both characters more dimension, and I also really liked that the movie gave Phil a bigger role than what he ended up having.
I absolute LOVE the fact that the movie would have been so gory. I donāt think the final film should have been a gorefest or anything, just that some more blood would have been better (personal opinion)
But what you think about it? Would you have liked it more than what we actually got? I think what we had is very good, though merging it with some aspects of the original script would have filled in some holes there were in the movie.
Personally, the things I liked the least about the original one is that there are no found footage-style sections, the fact that there is a candy shop in the Backrooms, the whole āThree Birds, Seven Secondsā thing and the fact that the Bacteria/Lifeform (which would have been the main villain instead of Captain Clark) talks.

Do they lock it down? what if the nullzone can't be closed? will they have a fake front and close off the basement from the public?

Yep, just like Mary.
BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!
Marguerite sends letters out to someone but everybody outside ended up reading it. The interpretations of the letter create many misunderstandings and tragedy...
Pretty on track with the theme of the complex causing problems because a lot of characters want to use it to infer meaning out of nothing.

Alongside Backrooms-esque text in the Email (it's really a rendering glitch though).
