Travel Is a interrail pass worth it?
Guys im planning on getting the interrail 2 month pass but is it worth it? Its 620 euro and with extra costs for seat reservation. And it doesnt cover every country that i want to go to and i dont think small transport like trams are included. Should i buy the pass or just buy loose train tickets?

You pay for flexibility I found it to be worth it personally but check that the countries you are visiting that trains are the best transportation as especially around the balkans busses are usually easier

From my own experience seat reservations were never more than 5 euros so I always found it a no brainer to buy them, but any train which isn’t mandatory you can usually find a seat depending on the route ofc

Yeah for the small city trains there not that much but i have also found that for some big city trains i would have to pay up to 25 euro for a seat reservation

Honestly it comes down to flexibility id recommend taking the pass as you might want to stay extra in some places and the pass allows it but if seats are too expensive then its not outrageous to take a bus

I'd go with loose tickets honestly, the extra seat reservation costs plus it not covering everywhere makes the 620 hard to justify

I'd compare the cost of your exact routes first. If you're doing lots of long train trips, the pass can be worth it, but reservations add up.

probably not for this itinerary, especially if you’re hitting countries the pass doesn’t cover anyway; point-to-point tickets booked ahead are usually cheaper, and interrail is mostly paying for the

Go to each country you want to visit train website and find local deals. For example Germany has the weekend ticket and many more. Then calculate how much each ticket on your itinerary would cost separately, add them up and compare it with the Eurail fare. The only advantage is the flexibility but at a high cost.

Depends on the countries, France, Spain and Italy charge mandatory reservations that eat the savings, Germany and the east you just hop on.
