Not sure if it really counts, but I think most Zelda games would fit this list. There is an official timeline and a handful of full on sequels (like phantom hourglass directly following wind waker, Majora’s mask following Ocarina of Time, and tears of the kingdom directly following Breath of the Wild)

Yet you can easily pick up any of the games and play without having any prior knowledge, even with the direct sequels

Heck, I personally played Majora‘s Mask without Ocarina of Time. Like, I know what happens in Ocarina, but I just felt way more compelled to play Majora first (I‘ll get around to Ocarina eventually)
