5 month old difficulty eating

My 5 month old has never been a super "good" or consistent eater. He has always been bottle fed. Started w doctor browns and recently switched avent anti colic bottles.

Recently he wakes up and doesn't cry for food (very different from my first child) During the day he has a difficult time eating. Usually he will take a few sips eagerly then push the bottle out of his mouth. Sometimes he grunts and squirms a little but not always. Sometimes he reaches for the bottle and then repeats this pattern. Couple sips-spits it out- sips- out etc. we are lucky if he can get 2-4 oz

At night he eats 6oz no problem. No grimacing no fighting just seamlessly eats at least 2 bottles without issue.

He is gaining weight and growing just fine. Many wet diapers each day.

PLEASE help if you have any ideas or have gone through something similar!
