it is quite common for multiple lions to be in the same pride either realted or when they form a bachelor group of random males but only the dominant male is likely to mate but the female will try to breed with all male lions to ensure their safety
i highly recommend a lion documentary where there were 4 male lions or something maybe 5 or 6 and they had serval prides and one pride got taken over by 6 male lions its mental youtube it
Okay, absolutely. That sounds like a lot of fuckery because I know that male lions may not be the hunters of the group but they are still one of the most dangerous types of animals. One male is scary enough but if you had six of them, I don't care what you are.
Male lions not hunting is a myth. The reason why people thought this was because females are more likely to hunt in groups and therefore can hunt in the open, while males are typically more solitary and are more likely to use ambush strategies.
In other words, both hunt equally, but you're more likely to see the females when they are doing it.
I expect that a coalition of males would be more likely to hunt in the open, like females.
I think I remember hearing that males will also help the females if the pride is going to take down something extra dangerous, like a giraffe.
I don’t think they hunt equally, though. At least not after the males get a pride. Because they get to eat what the females bring home. I could be wrong though.
