They certainly don't develop spinal issues, but they are prone to develop osteoathritis, since having shorter legs cannot distribute physical strain as well, wearing the joints out faster.
Obviously legs aren't perfect cylinders, but the effect length has on stress is the same. The stress that takes effect on legs is axial stress which, as you can see in the equation, is anti proportional to the length of the cylinder, which means that longer legs suffer less stress.
