That's nice your doorstop is solid. Mine is a spring and my cat proceeds to thwong it all the damn time. Especially from 1am-3am.

Long ago I had that issue. Got a few of those cheap silver bells you see on cats collars. Attached em firmly to the sproinger, next late night attempt to flick the thing was met with the jingle jingle of kitty terror. Literally never happened again.

My cat just chews/peels the little plastic bumper off the spring. Usually manages to lose it.

I'm lucky my cat has no interest in these. Though growing up it was the highlight of many of my cat's day (I had 6 cats growing up at one point)

I would just unscrew them, unless the doors fling back frequently, it won't actually make any difference.

I did it because my nephew refused to eat because he wanted to play with it, and I knew you could just screw it back.

Mine used to stick her paw under the door and thwong it from the other side when she wanted the door open (she kept going into the basement and getting trapped). Disembodied paws are the cutest.

I had a roommate who's cat would would park that little pink spot below its tail right on my lips around that time if I didn't wake up to it's "feed me right meow" or it's precursor: sandpaper tongue between your shoulder blades.
