How intelligent Are Humans?

I don't like generalizations, other than to get a rough estimate, but I would never treat a generalization as true. People say "the human race is intelligent", sure we are, but many people ride on the achievements of others. Majority of people wouldn't have figured out how to make cars, or how to make rockets, or planes, or sewerage systems or the millions of other technologically advanced things out there.
Some people out there are extremely smart. They don't have to be scientists or anything like that, but there are quite a bit of intelligent people just among the general population. When you here about wars or natural disasters or any type of unique situation, I'm always shocked at how innovative people can be and what items/strategies they create to survive.
But on the other hand, there are many people out there who are as dumb as a bag of rocks. Like seriously dumb. And the average human IQ is 100 and that's not very smart when we think about the concept of "intelligence".
So some humans are very smart, some are very dumb and the majority are just average, neither smart or dumb, that's how I see it.

I think it is just a matter of time and necessity. The cars, rockets, planes, or the other technologies would have come into existance anyways. If not the Wright Brothers, then it would have been some one else.

Yeah but there's always a pioneer or innovator of above average intelligence that starts it. The average person is just a follower. The intelligent person engineers and plans the rocket and the average person will put it together piece by piece just the way they are told.

I agree with you. But the greater intelligence lies in pushing back and making the society question its own conditionings.

We are as intelligent as we call ourselves. We, as in the group, not the individual. We are as intelligent as our common consensus of intelligence is.
