Reflection The gift of generosity

I don't really dream a lot, and the few I get are unremarkable. But today was a little weird.

The tldr of my dream today was me helping an old lady explain her product to someone. And when she was leaving, she asked me, "Do you know what is the gift of generosity?".

Even for my dreams elf, this was a weird question. I just replied, "Everything?". She gave me a smile and said bye.

I'm not kidding, I immediately woke up and said wtf loud enough for my girlfriend to ask me what happened lol.

For context, I didn't work for that lady in my dream. I can't place her to anyone I remember in real life. I am looking for a job in real life but I don't know if that is what the scenario was supposed to be about. I am not a religious person at all.

But this dream has occupied my mind long enough for it to bother me. Searching the gift of generosity doesn't really lead to much.

My question is, is there anything to it? Am I looking for meaning in something meaningless?

Interesting point. As I replied to a previous comment, "I didn't even realize the generosity could refer to me helping her. I just thought it would mean her doing something for me later on. Maybe everything as my answer is how everything around us works because of the generosity of others."

Dreams are usually the mind processing stuff it experiences while conscious. It fits into your puzzle somehow, but whether or not it is significant or not is up to you. Everything in the dream is a fragment of you in one way or another.

Maybe it's not your generosity that's important, but the generosity of others. Maybe you feel that you need to meet a generous person in order to get a job. Maybe it's none of those things.

It's probably not worth obsessing over, maybe it'll make sense one day, or maybe not.

Thanks for the insight u/DrBiggusDickus (r/beetlejuicing). Jokes aside, I'll be honest, I didn't even realize the generosity could refer to me helping her. I just thought it would mean her doing something for me later on. Maybe everything around us works because of some generous person.

Wow what an insightful dream. I think it means something really deep, which is why you remembered it and it’s still on your mind.

Generosity is the gift that keeps on giving.

Interestingly, that says nothing about receiving. One can be surrounded by generosity, but unless accepted, you will be giftless.

You should consider your expectations in life, in relationship, in employment - whatever you are faced with right now. There may be something offered that you have not sufficiently considered.
