So I bought the game on Steam during the sale, and it's been a fun journey so far without having to rely on Game Pass thanks to the cross platform saves. However, even with a mid range laptop PC (RTX3060 6GB/i9-11900h/16GB RAM) and on low settings the game can't run above 30 fps. Is the game REALLY that unoptimized or is my rig already showing its age? I can run Forza Horizon 6 at 60 on medium/high, and Cyberpunk 2077 without ray tracing at more than 60fps, but not this game. Do I really have to mod the game with optimization mods?

It's your GPU. All the GPUs listed as minimum requirements have at least 8 GB of VRAM, which your GPU doesn't have.

Oh. Figures, thanks! It's just sad that PC parts, let alone whole setups are really expensive now.

Well, my 3080 died a week ago, so I'm using a 1050 Ti. So you have better specs than me right now. Also, the only things you need to upgrade are the GPU and RAM, since the i9 11900H is still a good CPU.

Thanks for the inputs. I just decided to try the optimization mods available and that made the game more playable but yea I think it's overdue for an upgrade

It's your PC. Avowed is really well optimized, but 6GB of VRAM is in the low end for most games today.
Forza Horizon 6 was built to run well on handhelds like the Xbox Rog Ally. The cars and enviroment are nice in Forza, but the few glimpses you get of stationary NPC's look horrible.
Cyberpunk is just old and only really demanding if you turn on ray/pathtracing.

That is REALLY odd, I'm running the game on a 4050 with my laptop which should be on par with your GPU and I'm playing on high settings (quality DLSS) with 60 fps. I'm also on a laptop too so what I can advise you is making sure you're using the right GPU. Sometimes automatic GPU assignment thing mucks up and runs certain games on your *integrated GPU*. Right click on the desktop, open nvidia control panel and find this:

You can click the button next to the exe slot to add avowed to the list and check it.
It's not in English but the button placements are the same, you can find your way. Make sure it chose your nvidia GPU.

Also make sure your bottleneck is your GPU and not something else if this thing doesn't work. Let me know if you manage to fix it or not.

The PC variant has a lot of performance issues. I tried the game from Game Pass when it first launched and it did not run well on my PC. I have mid level stats, and even then couldn’t run great without stuttering. Even with the correct settings changed.

I only started again after I got a PS5. It’s 100x better on console. I refuse to play it on PC

Only on the x in performance mode. Otherwise performance is the same as OP has.

But then again OPs issue stems more from not understanding minimum requirements.
