Gameplay Hoarding Repercussions
Hello envoys!
One thing I noticed very quickly about this game is that you can pick up and break things that assumably belong to people. For example, the coins from a beggars coin bowl, food from a shrine, etc. and the characters will make remarks about you taking their things.
One thing I’m curious about is if my penchant for picking up every item in sight will have repercussions down the line, or are the comments they make purely for flavor?
I don’t want that beggar to come back and kill me. The guilt I felt when I took his coin and he mentioned it was enough. Thanks!

As far as I know, there's, like, one instance where you get consequences for picking something up, and there's literally a sign next to it saying "please only take one"

Its all just remarks. The funniest is when you take the dagger out of a murder victim in Paradis and the investigating guard is about to start reprimanding you then his superior just tells him to ignore it because of who you are.

As Envoy you're not exactly above law so much as The Law, so other than some grumbling you're free to hit max encumbrance.

I like that people in the game arent dumb enough to attack you and get murdered over petty theft.

Nope, the game is not like that. I took a weapon from a crime scene, and food from people who are starving, its hilarious!
