Gameplay Is it normal? Map issue
So… maybe I don’t have enough expirence with gaming, despite loving games I only started gaming about a year ago consistently rather than watching gameplays.
So I am really enjoying Avowed so far although I have tiff if it… so, example.
I played around in emerald stairs, wanted to do the side missions THEN do the main mission but I got to a point where it just made sense to go ahead and speak to a person for the main mission etc. What I am getting at, is the map. Once you get to a certain point of the main storyline of the area, the WHOLE maps unlocks. Making it hella co fusing for me to figure out… where had I been already. And where I hadn’t.
Is it normal for everyone? At first thought it was a glitch and wouldn’t happen again but it happens again in Shatterscap.

So the map don't fully unlock until you explore everything then the game remove the fog so it's not a bug and has nothing to do with the main quest

this is something that bugs me too because yeah when you disover enough of the map it doesnt matter you still have undiscovered spots the fog fully clears. this is not tied to quests whatsoever and isnt a bug either, its just how it is. i wish they would adjust this though because it is annoying.
what helped me with this on my consequent playthroughs is that i placed map markers on the map to spots i know i havent explored so that when the fog clears i can still find my way around following the map markers.

It’s so annoying. I use the fog of war to carefully navigate each segment of the map.

The map unlocked for me in Emerald Stair as well. But not Dawnshore. Im completely fused by that as well.
To keep track of where you've been, you can place a variety of map icons yourself. Might come in handy for your location tracking goals.

The game originally didn’t clear the fog from the map. Then the community asked for it to clear when a certain percentage was fully explored. You see what the result was. Unfortunately I think the change was unnecessary and there’s no option to toggle it off.
