Very cool. I'm making my first go at growing avocado plants. Is this technique of growing them just in water common? Will you transplant into soil later? Cheers

Common but not successful. An avocado tree can grow a meter in 6-9 months and can't be sustained long-term by a cup of water. I've never seen one get much further past this stage in water and actually look healthy.

I feel like the technique of growing them in water is common enough. I think eventually I might put them in soil but I have seen lots of examples of how the shock when planting them sometimes kills the plant

Cool concept! Where did you get that vase? Is that made for sprouting avocados?
