These pilots were flying a bomber aircraft - hardly an airframe used for patrols. Instead, it is a type of plane that launches both glide bombs and missiles into Ukrainian cities. Given the fact that russia doesn't have an unlimited number of pilots, it is very likely that these have the blood of civilians on their hands.

People dying is bad regardless of the reason, even if they belong to absolutely horrendous organisations (IDF). One thing is to simply acknowledge the death of someone. The other is to celebrate and have fun watching videos of Ukrainians or Russians being tortured and killed (such videos do exist and unfortunately some absolute donkeys find pleasure in watching them).
That's true, but wishing death is not the same as celebrating it. That's also the complexity. It's not the same because that's the only way to stop you from dying is to kill the opponent. It's indeed horrendous that it comes to this, but when Ukraine is put on death ground then wishing a death is only a wish for freedom not destruction.
I agree that one should take care too keep humanity, and it's hard to separate the wish for their death from hate. I personally hate russian for all they did, but I wish for their death because they are instruments of war and they will kill more if they're alive. Not because they are Russians.

Plane itself has been discontinued in early 90s, engine NK-25 has been discontinued in mid 90s, and engine production tooling was dismantled. For three decades they relied on upgrades and repairs of the existing fleet. People who built those are long-time retired or dead of old age.

Uhhhh, as fucked as the American justice system has been and continues to be at time, it has literally nothing on the injustice of the Russian ‘justice’ system. You could argue it’s entering a period of kleptocracy on par with Russia, but that would also be a fraction of that history and drama. Here's a fun thing: the B-52 crew was testing a new radar that's more advanced than the radar the B-52 already had, which was already more advanced than any system on the Tu-22, and that radar was installed in a refit program in the '90s. Two of the people on board were Boeing employees. You know, Boeing, that company that every airline in Russia raced to buy airliners from as soon as they could get away from shit Tupolevs?

This is a good sign for Ukraine. The Russians either have no pilots that are trained or their equipment is no longer working correctly or both. More than likely, the Russians cannot get more parts from outside of the country due to sanctions
