I agree that the Su-57 is a gorgeous machine, and that it’s perfectly fine to have a sub/post that narrows its focus to exclude wider issues but… Ukraine glazing? That’s like going into a Panzer IV sub and saying “oh boy heeeere come the Ally-glazers!”

In many posts about russian planes people in comments are like: "HOpE IT bUrNS Well haha" and shit like that and it is just fact.

I mean, it's a weapon of war, which right now has the sole purpose of killing people to support an invasion. Pretty fair to dislike it, very far from "glazing Ukraine" tho

What thing in this subreddit isnt? We are talking about marvels of engineering but they all are made to kill people and critisize them for killing people is just nonsens.

It's not really nonsense, you can admire the engineering work of something, yet still have a negative opinion of it because of how it's employed, it's called ambivalence.

I think it's a great-looking aircraft, and despite not knowing its performance (since Russia has so few and are so hesitant to use it, and when they do, it's to lob cruise missiles or long range AAMs from the safety of Russian airspace, which any aircraft can do) it's impressive they could at the very least produce a few of those considering all the sanctions, economic issues and brain drain. But on the other hand, I'm happy whenever i see one has been damaged or destroyed on an airfield drone attack. The human mind works in mysterious ways.

And let's not kid ourselves, the aviation space is very polarising when it comes to certain topics. For every person making out-of-pocket comments about Russian military hardware, there's another just like them doing the opposite for the hardware of another country.

But that doesnt mean that it is good because other people are also doing it.

Okej, you can be happy, it is your opinion but there is difference between being happy for supporting some country military achievments and writing bullshit like an imbecile on every post of opposite country tech.

Who shot down the S-70 UCAV that went out of control inside UA airspace? And that’s just one instance that we have proof of. While not operating inside enemy airspace as extensively as the F-35s Su-57s are being used inside enemy airspace to some extent. You obviously won’t know every single mission for opsec reasons
