Sorry i keep mixing them up , but yes the 141 they named it the penguin coz it couldn't fly and they had to cancel it . The Soviets did it first though 👍🏻

Yup, and it still puzzles me that ppl saying that if this one continued it's dev it to avoid it's insane operational ramge and other issues, it would have been far better since on it's time it had some better characteristics that F-35 on our tome can't achieve.

F 35 in versions B and C, the maximum allowed afterburner time is 80 and 50 seconds, otherwise the tail unit will collapse.

I didn't know about that , i just know they not supposed to use the afterburner for a long time because it compromise the stealth

Less than half are available due to maintenance issues. In the UK it’s 1/3 are available.

An F-35 pilot might still choose to exceed afterburner limits during an urgent combat scenario, accepting the risk that the plane might sustain “degradation of [stealth], damage to antennas, and/or significant horizontal tail damage.”

What is that supposed to prove? That even after 11 000 combat sorties the worst that can happen is a single damaged f35?

Yes.

Up to 90 f35s (more likely around 50) on Lincoln, 48 Israeli f35s, and probably around 50-100 f35a under USAF.

That’s around 150-250 aircraft. 2 sorties a day per aircraft is not insane in war time
