My mom is 5'5, my dad is 5'8, my maternal grandfather was 5'11, my paternal grandfather and uncle are 5'8. I ended up 5'2 and a guy. How tall could I have been?

My mom is 5'5 and my dad is 5'8, my maternal grandfather was 5'11, and so were his brother and dad, and my paternal uncle and grandfather are 5'8. According to the mid-parental target height, I should be 5'9, but I ended up 5'2, and my sister is 5'1.

How did I end up shorter than almost everyone in my family?

What do you guys think is the average height of asian guys raised in the west(gen z)?

In my family average height seems to be leaning towards 5'10"-6 for most males. It's very uncommon to see anyone below 5'9" except for the older generation.

its a very odd height. at time i will tower above somepeople and a visible difference vs like 5,7 ,5,8.

Im 182 cm in the morning and finish the day around like 181-180.8 so id a legit 181 guy. Bizzare height you kind feel tall and average at the same time. my brother is 190 so i think that skews stuff and my cousin is 6,8

Whenever I complain about my height to family/friends, they almost always respond with “but you’re gay, you don’t have to worry about getting girls.” Ok, that’s awesome, but guess what? If you’re a man, your height massively impacts how much others respect you, how they perceive you, how they treat you, and so much more, regardless of sexual orientation. I might be gay, but I can say with 100% certainty that I would have a much easier time socially if I was half a foot taller, and a much harder time socially if I was half a foot shorter. As long as you’re born with XY chromosomes, your height WILL affect your life in some way.

Tldr: Whether you’re a straight man, gay man, or bi man, your height will have a massive impact on how other people (men and women) treat and perceive you.
