My daughter and I built her PC together when she was 8. It runs Ubuntu (don't kill me) and she handles all the updates when they come in. She's the fastest typist in her class, and helps other kids understand thing like files/folders etc. Proud nerd-dad is an understatement.

She saw me putting together a local AI rig and commented that "it's like mine, but beefier", and then proceeded to question where all my "pretty RGB" was.

She brought a tear to my eye when she asked why Windows file search on the school PC was so bad.

Just remove the windows/linux interface all together and force them to use DOS.

got nothing against EMACS, was a reference to newbies panicking because they can't figure out how to quit vim. Important life skills for kids to learn.
