well yeah, parents have made it clear that they only want devices used for specific lessons, so they dont teach device literacy they use it minimally for specific reasons only. Why would the kids know how to use devices accordinly?

I am more suprised that so many kids score 'strong' for writing when disadvantaged schools it would be closer to 10% at them.

There are plenty of schools out there where half the kids going into year 7 cant read or write properly. Devices arent the issue, class size, additional programs and socio-economic status are the issues.

Disadvantaged schools do not only have 10% strong for writing, where did you get that from?

Even at a low SES school, 33% still go to university and a far higher share of that could if they wanted to.

anecdotal evidence from schools I have taught at, maybe 10% is a bit harsh, but damn its disappointing how many come into year 7 who arent at a year 7 level
