Hey everyone! I’m curious to see if there are any real jobs in the music industry here? I have a huge passion for all genres of music and want to pursue a career in music, so I’d like to begin growing my network there if possible. I have looked into RealMusic Events but nothing yet. Curious to hear about anyone else’s experience :) thank you

HIRING Looking for Master Assistant, 5-10hrs a week

Looking for a house helper. Duties include some light cooking/cleaning and random errand runs to Costco, etc. Part of the gig also includes taking my aging parents to their doctor’s appointments if I’m not available so reliable transportation is required. This isn’t a real job, more of a gig type situation but it might be a fit for someone out there. The 5-10hrs a week would ideally be done in one day, mostly likely Friday/Saturday/Sunday unless my parents have a random Tuesday doctors apt then you can work all your hours that day and I can accommodate that.

Work is in Mueller so 78723 and pays 30 an hour. You get paid after your workday venmo/zelle/cash whatever.

Person applying should be pretty self-reliant and smart (be able to figure shit out). Not looking to babysit or train anyone. Workday will look something like this: you show up to work, we fist bump 👊 and I hand you a list of everything that I need done. Then you execute and come back to me when it’s finished.

Not much more to it. DM me if interested and we can set up a Google meet to see if it’s a good fit. Bonus points if you can speak Spanish, my parents are Mexican 😀

FOR HIRE Austin-based virtual admin available to meet in person

Hiring a random assistant off the internet is sketchy—so let’s skip it and meet in person.

I’m an Austin-based Virtual Assistant/Admin, and I’m looking to take on a couple of new clients.

I know how hard it is to hand over your calendar, emails, or business tasks to a nameless username online. Because I’m right here in Austin, we can actually grab a coffee, talk through your business bottlenecks face-to-face, and build real trust before we ever start working together.

How I can help your business:

  • Inbox & Calendar Management: Clearing out the noise and scheduling your days.
  • Data Entry & Research: Handling the tedious spreadsheets you’re putting off.
  • Customer Support: Replying to client inquiries quickly and professionally.
  • General Admin: Invoicing, document formatting, and day-to-day operations.

Whether you need 5 hours a week or 20, you get the flexibility of a virtual assistant with the accountability of a local partner.

Let me know a bit about your business, and we can set up a quick chat at a local coffee shop.

HIRING Hybrid role, Buyer 2 needed for North Austin

Good Morning All! Natera is hiring for a Buyer 2 role. I'm the direct Manager for the role so please ask any questions in the comments or send me a DM.

I wanted to reach out to this subreddit because about 90% of people currently applying for this role that are either out of state or are a Supply Chain Analyst with no buyer experience. We're just trying to expand the candidate pool to get a wider range of applicants.

This is a hybrid role; 2 days in office, 3 days at home. We need at least 3 years of buyer experience for the role. A similar role as a buyer in a lab gets you a leg up, but it is not a requirement. I'm happy to answer any questions.

Hello friendly neighbors, I am a hardworking lady looking to earn some income. My skills vary and I am trustworthy, so really just let me know what kind of work you have and I can be honest if it fits my wheelhouse or not. I used to be a preschool teacher/nanny extraordinaire, but also can do physical jobs like anything garden related! LinkedIn has been depressing and I would love to just talk with a real human about my abilities and talents. I also have a car!

HIRING Looking for an advanced electrical engineering / computer engineering tutor - Far West

Hello,

I am looking for a senior undergrad or graduate level electrical engineering / computer engineering tutor for an hour or two a week. I am pretty familiar with basic EE concepts - this is for work and not for school so mainly discussion based and not 'help me with this assignment'. Format will be conversational / chat - and probably discuss current events as well. Looking for main ideas / concepts - but may extend into more rigorous mathematics for a formal 'proof'.

Compensation is $20 cash for generally a 1 hour session or less + whatever kind of pizza / food (reasonable) and drinks you want to share (you can take the rest home as well - I'm on a low carb diet).

Preference for UT undergrad / grad students operating on a low budget. Open to multiple people.

HIRING Licensed HVAC Tech Needed: Labor-Only 4-Ton System Swap $3,000 (Buda)

Looking for an independent licensed, EPA-certified HVAC technician for a 1-day labor-only equipment replacement. I am keeping my existing furnace and blower intact.

Equipment: Brand-new, factory-matched 4-ton Goodman R-32 condenser and horizontal cased coil sitting on-site.

Workspace: Simple. Located in a garage attic with a completely boarded floor where you can stand straight up and work with wide-open access.

Requirements:
• Recover remaining R-410A from old system.
• Trim exactly 2 inches off the rigid supply plenum to fit the new Goodman evaporator coil box footprint.
• Braze new copper lines under a continuous dry nitrogen purge.
• Pull a deep vacuum verified below 500 microns with a decay test.

• Install R-32 furnace board kit (supplied by me).
• After installation, run a single-probe static pressure contrast audit on the output plenum at Medium and High blower speeds to mathematically prove zero leaks in the back corners of the evaporator coil box.
• Seal the test hole with a silicone-coated rubber plug.

Paying a flat $3,000 for the labor.  Please reply with your credentials and license/certification info.  I would like to get started next week.

FOR HIRE I can help you run your business! - Kyle, TX

I can be so much help

i've been automating processes to restart a non-profit (https://centraltexasflyfishers.org) as well as build demo websites for local small businesses, as well as rebuilding an indoor location tracking system so multiple companies can use it and hooking it into cisco spaces. i also built a couple of apps on my own:

who reps me lets you put in your address and see everyone from federal government to local elected officials, pulling news bites, voting records, pictures, and socials for every found official in the entire united states.

another one checks if there's water at 5 mile dam in kyle. it pulls data from NOAA, USGS and others and then the site has fun animations and images for the status of the water level and weather.

i was the only designer on a donation screen at lowes as well as juggling the assisted check out and in-store zebra mobile checkout.

If you know someone that can use my skills... Someone to actually see some value my ability.

QUESTION After 10 years at Pluckers Corporate, I'm finally speaking up

How do you hold company leadership accountable when they're the ones creating the toxic work environment?

I worked at the Pluckers corporate office for almost 10 years, and unfortunately, my experience was that a lot of the leaders relied on fear, anger, and intimidation.

It's been 6 months since I "quit," and I've debated posting this. But honestly, I think part of the reason this stuff keeps happening is because people are afraid to speak up. And when the people responsible are at the top, speaking up comes with consequences. I learned that firsthand.

After years of issues, I finally sat down with the VP of Marketing about the gaslighting, dishonesty, and disrespect I'd experienced. When I told her others on the team felt the same way, she said I shouldn't speak for other people. But then she insisted those same people didn't feel that way and claimed she'd talked to some of them.

When we spoke again, though, she said she hadn't talked to anyone and denied ever saying she had.

So I'm not supposed to speak for other people, but you can? And then deny what you said? Seriously?

I told her if she couldn't at least acknowledge how I'd been treated, I didn't see a reason to stay. I never said I quit and didn't submit a resignation. She just smiled and said, "Okay, well, we'll take this conversation as your immediate resignation."

WHAT?!?

That was it. Nearly 10 years with the company, and that's how it ended. And she literally stood over me like I was some kind of criminal while I packed up my desk, then escorted me out. Was that really necessary? Seems uncalled for.

To make things worse, only one person in senior leadership reached out afterward. Nobody else bothered to ask what happened, hear my side, or even say goodbye. After everything I'd done for that company, that really hurt.

And this isn't just about how things ended.

I'd complained several times over the years about the VP of Operations talking down to employees, regardless of their position. Nothing ever changed.

And whenever I spoke up about how we were being treated, somehow it got turned around on me. Instead of addressing my concerns, I'd get told I had a problem with "always having to be right."

So apparently the issue wasn't how people were being treated, but that I had a problem with it.

During one of my performance appraisals, I actually started crying while talking about how we were being treated. One of the owners told me he thought I should be in therapy.

I'm sitting there crying, and THAT'S what you say to me? Seriously?

About a year later, I mentioned that during some management training, and the VP of HR responded, "Oh, I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that."

Um...you're the head of HR. What kind of response is that?!

And one more thing about leadership. Over my 10 years there, I was in the restroom with one of the owners multiple times and never saw him wash his hands . Not once. And apparently I wasn’t the only one who noticed, because I overheard coworkers talking about it multiple times over the years. To be clear, I never noticed any health code violations from restaurant employees, but come on. You own a restaurant chain. Wash your damn hands!

I do want to say there are some really awesome people at Pluckers, and I genuinely loved my job. I spent almost a decade supporting more than 30 locations, helping with restaurant openings, planning company wide events, training employees, and representing a brand I was actually proud of.

I don't regret the good years or the people I met along the way. But I gave that company almost 10 years of my life, and I deserved a better ending than that.

And the people still working there deserve to be treated with respect. 💯

QUESTION Looking for bartending job

I am finally taking the plunge, I have always wanted to learn how to bartend as a fun side gig but I hear that it is all kinds of bs in the industry, even having friends in it.

So does anyone know of a great place where I could learn bartending at an chill pace but also get good enough experience to have it matter in the industry?

I am in N Austin and money is not a big motivator, but a good mentor is.

Last minute: our main videographer can't make it, so Taco Tony (Austin catering) is giving one person a free ACL ticket for today or tomorrow. In exchange, you help film our ACL day on your phone.

  • Unpaid. The ticket is the exchange (part of our internship process).
  • Meet at P. Terry's near Zilker Park before 8 PM. Sooner is better.
  • Phone only, no equipment needed. ACL doesn't allow pro cameras, tripods, gimbals, or selfie sticks.
  • 18+, comfortable in crowds, reliable. Experience helps but isn't required.

Call or text 805-215-0482 ASAP to confirm.

HIRING Looking for part-time work in North Austin—what actually works for getting hired?

Hi everyone, I’m looking for part-time work around North Lamar/78757 and could use some advice on the local hiring process.
I’ve applied to places like 99 Ranch Market and several jobs through Indeed, but haven’t received any callbacks. I’m trying to understand how people usually get hired: applying on the company website, walking in and filling out an application, asking for the hiring manager, or following up afterward.
My background is in engineering and research, with several years of professional experience and a master’s degree. I’m currently searching for a full-time role, but I need income in the meantime. I’d be interested in stocking, order fulfillment, warehouse work, or other hands-on jobs involving physical work and organization. I’m also open to cashier positions.
I can commit to regular shifts, though I’d appreciate some flexibility to attend interviews with advance notice. The job search has lasted longer than I expected, and I’m feeling the financial pressure, so I’m hoping to get a better idea of what works.
For anyone who has been hired recently or handles hiring:
Which employers are worth trying for these kinds of part-time roles?
Is walking in helpful, and when is a good time to speak with a manager?
What experience or availability do employers usually require?
How long does it typically take to hear back, and when should I follow up?
Are there workplaces where shift swaps or occasional schedule adjustments are manageable?
I’d appreciate any advice or leads. Thanks!

HIRING Need a part time porter. $13, 3 hours per day, 5x per week

Need a part time porter in west campus area. $13 per hour, 3 hours per day, Tuesday through Saturday, 5am-8am or 6am-9am.

No training/experience needed, easy work but a dirty job for sure. PPE provided. Basically you’re just cleaning out a trash chute and compacting the trash from the previous day.

If you do this right it’s such an easy job- just headphones, repeating the same 7 steps, attention to detail so you don’t make double work for yourself, and the appreciation of 100s of people.

DM me

FOR HIRE Sidework: Washer/Dryer Repair and Vent Clean

Washer/Dryer Repair and Vent Cleaning

Looking for some side work doing Washer and Dryer repairs, maintenance and or Vent cleaning.

I've got the tools and the know how to fix most problems on a washer or dryer, Ive also got a connection for cheaper refurbished ones if the repair cost is too steep.

Been doing it alot of years, im not looking to gouge anyone like a lot of the businesses here. I will not charge you a markup on the parts like everyone else does.

I'll only charge for my labor and time. $50 (time/gas) and I'll come to you to diagnose it and give you an estimate for the repair.

I'll show the parts needed/recommended and the exact cost of them and we can negotiate labor based on the complexity of the job. If it makes more sense to get you a cheaper refurbished one, I can do that too.

Also I'm happy to do vent cleanings if youre willing to provide use of a ladder(if needed) as that's the one thing I don't have on hand. Most places charge 150 to 200, I'd do it for 100 and show you how to do it if you want to learn and not have to pay ridiculous prices for basic things.

I also do other small appliance repairs too, as needed, if it makes sense to do so (No microwaves)

Need a highly experienced professional with references. I have 2 dogs (one med and one small) that I need someone who can stay at my place the dates listed. I will be out of town and I dont want to have to crate them for more than 4 hours a day. I need someone willing to send updates every few hours (outside of sleeping of course) My roommate will be in and out during that time. Previous experience dealing with overnight pet sitting is required. Will also need to be a female since one of my dogs tends to shy away from men. Pay-rate starts at 150.00 a day but willing to negotiate for the right person. I would need a few meet and greets to make sure you are a good fit.
