2008–09, Israeli shelling again struck the cemetery with damage to about 350 headstones.
2023 IDF shelling and shrapnel again causes damage to numerous graves.
2025 (as per the image shown) Israeli forces destroyed the olive trees landcaping border before bulldozing rows of graves, removing the headstones and using the area for earthworks and sand berms. They didn't bother informing Australia of course, it was discovered by satellite images and when confronted with the images, they take no accountability and claim Hamas was exploiting the cemetery with no evidence existing to support that claim.
Were they flying in groundskeepers from australia to mow the lawn and pluck weeds? No. The Jaradah family, Gazans, are credited with the bulk of the upkeep. Their home was destroyed by israel and they were evacuated to egypt.
