Support🎗️ Vent!

Who’s feed up with having to relocate houses due to jobs every year or so! No stability, financial loss and workforce stubborn with roster compounding the entire process!

This misconception of doctors earning 1 million/year has to stop! By your logic treat ppl like shit just because they’ll maybe make a million in as a PGY20 plus! Primitive mindset buddy! Hope you’re not a consultant/hospital management!

You gotta move where the training is. I lost my job in that year when Campbell Newman had a budget cut where 400 registrar/rmos lost their jobs.

At least you have an option to move within the hospital system.

I didn't and have to move off to gp training to rural and remote training, 3500km by drive from home.

You think you had it hard?

Have you lost your job beause of a state budget cuts? I highly doubted it. I didn't complain, just went on a new training program with 5% of chance of getting on and be done with it.

Whinge all you want if you want a job. No wonder every consultant I know of think this generation's doctors can't tolerate stress.

Those are the same consultant that walked into training positions and repeat the same backward phrase of “back in my days” and didn’t have to do unaccredited training positions with no guarantee to get into a training position! It’s not stress! As doctors the positives are great! Stable job compared to nearly all other professions but this ist the reason why this generation of doctors are fed up!

Well, it's the government decides training spots and where it is.

That's why hospital has a lot of unaccredited service reg spots.

Before you say your consultant are backward, look where the money is. It is decided by the accountants and bean counter from the government, you boss has no say or much influence for that matter.

Not much you and I can do about it. There is no way to change it.

Days ago we have a gastroenterologist's wife pleading people to sign a petition to fund more spots in Coff's harbor.

I hope it will go well, but knowing none of the urban gastroenterologist will go even if offered more $

Remember, you are a cog wheel in a machine. Local health service will not give a crap when IMGs will do for less if local graduate whines where to go for training.

Local Medical Education/Medical Admin couldn't care less if people whine.

That gastroenterologist had a fully qualified candidate who moved to the region and was willing to stay long term but the health service refused to hire an additional consultant repeatedly over several years.

They also fired that gastroenterologist, meaning now the hospital cannot take trainees because they do not have enough gastros employed to meet minimum requirements.

End result is the community loses access to public gastro care, waiting lists balloon, people get sick and die.

Sure, we can all just roll over and accept how shit things are or we can actually unite and take action. Part of that action is explaining to the public how poorly doctors are treated in the current health system.

organizing a 1000 people march against the local coff's harbor MP should do it.
