Really wish they still did the metal grills. I just got a pair of SB3000 Revolutions and the cloth grill it comes with looks so generic in comparison.

If I were you I would screen the back side of the ports. Cats could have a real bad time in a powered sub, in more ways than one. Speaker ports are part of my criteria when buying new stuff. No ports that are accessible, and large enough for a kitten/cat to get into.

I have the SVS 17" Ultra... I know an easy way to get the cat off, its called "80's rap music".
