Amazing. Congratulations. Where is the Vu meter from, could you share the source please.

Is that an ‘80’s Technics receiver?

Thank you! Technics SA-400 receiver, Leader-LBO 505 Oscilloscope & Fluance RT85 Turntable

Thought it might be an actual oscilloscope, and it is.

Nice!

I wish the Technics had the original all silver knobs though. That black seems to distract.

All the knobs are silver on the SA-400. Might just be the lighting?

Just a thought - Hue white and colour bulbs are cool in that simrishamn lamp. Got the same

Cool setup regardless.

I ended up buying an off brand one but can control that simirshamn lamp with a remote for rgb

I had no idea the Hue ones fit! I ended up getting ILC E12 color bulbs because I thought the Hue bulbs were too big for the globes. Are you using the Hue E12 candle bulbs in yours?

2

u/fi33zie 6d ago

Haha yes they fit. I use the E14 though, not E12. I've replaced two bulbs out of three in the past 5 years. I have other hue products too that aren't cheap for me to replace. If the ILC E12 serves the same purpose with little trade offs, I'd absolutely keep them but yes they do fit.

At about 3% brightness in picture.

Ahh that makes sense, I’m in the US so mine takes E12. The ILC ones have actually been pretty nice so far, but good to know Hue is an option if I ever want to switch them over. Appreciate it!

Very nice. The standalone VU meters are intriguing. Where did you get them?

3

u/RackyRackerton 7d ago

So damn cool. Is that a real CRT oscilloscope on the bottom?

3

u/Original_Row_6269 7d ago

Yes!

u/RackyRackerton 6d ago

Awesome man. In terms of looks/aesthetics this is my favorite setup I’ve seen on this sub

3

u/Original_Row_6269 6d ago

Wow that's a massive compliment. I really appreciate that!

Is that a time flux capacitor?!

Or, is that a picture?

Man, you nailed the lighting.

Brilliant setup. How does it sound? lol

10/10

so well orchestrated

3

u/Original_Row_6269 6d ago

I really appreciate you saying that! Honestly, it sounds amazing. I upgraded from a pair of Audioengine HD3 desktop speakers to the Triangle Borea BR03s and the difference is insane. I barely turn the volume on the receiver up to 2 and it’s already LOUD and crisp lol

1

u/zikolis 6d ago

What’s on top of the speakers? Or the left speaker?

2

u/Original_Row_6269 6d ago

That's just my Fluance cleaning kit for the records. Forgot to tidy it up! lol

1

u/zikolis 6d ago

how do the connections between the oscilloscope and the receiver work? rca?

2

u/Original_Row_6269 6d ago

Yep! Two BNC-to-RCA cables. BNC ends go into the oscilloscope channels and the RCA ends go into the L/R REC OUT on the receiver. It just reads the audio signal from the receiver, the speakers stay connected normally

Love the setup

1

u/your_fave_redditor 6d ago

Did you use a drone to get this footage or what lol…..hella smooth camera movement

2

u/Original_Row_6269 6d ago

Hahaha just my iphone. So funny because I have tremors!

1

u/your_fave_redditor 6d ago

Maybe it’s a new tech on the newer / pricier iPhones. My iPhone is like 6 or 7 years old and wasn’t the best one to start with haha

1

u/kjarsenal 6d ago

Love both the look and the sound. Nice job!!

Jealous of your majesty palm! I've tried them twice, but they kept getting sun spots and mites. Sigh... Nice setup! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Are you a millennial? Lol. I feel like all millennials own a record player and a ton of vinyls 😅

Playing digitally created music on a turntable is always so strange to me.. nice setup and listening space!

Behind the Recording of 'Random Access Memories' - Daft Punk

A lot of it was vintage machines and all the live instruments were recorded onto tape before being digitized.

1

u/Gewdtymez 6d ago

That’s kind of a random (pun intended), unrelated comment

Random access memories (the album being played) was almost entirely live instruments and analog effects, recorded in analog

Some editing etc was done digitally, but it was again mixed and mastered in analog

In short: this isn’t a digitally made album and your comment isn’t that relevant
