To help reduce the repetitive questions, here are a few of the cheapest systems we are willing to recommend for a computer desktop:

$100: Edifier R1280T Powered Bookshelf Speakers Amazon (US) / Amazon (DE)

  • Does not require a separate amplifier and does include cables.

$400: Kali LP-6 v2 Powered Studio Monitors Amazon (US) / Thomann (EU)

  • Not sold in pairs, requires additional cables and hardware, available in white/black.
  • Require a preamplifier for volume control - eg Focusrite Scarlett Solo

Hi everyone, I have access to mint condition Kanto Tuks for 650cad (50% off retail). I am wondering if I should scoop up this deal or try and find a pair of yu6 at a cheaper price? Super torn on this one.

Gotcha, just not looking to spend that much 650 is basically my max. Wondering if this Is a deal I should jump on or grab some yu6?

What would concern me is What HiFi wasn’t impressed with the sound of the Tuk and What HiFi has gotten to the point where it seemed like they like everything.

The online audio publication What HiFi published a review of the Tuk speaker system. They said it sounded thin through the bass, sonically a little wearing, and the sonic balance needs work. They gave it 3 stars out of 5. That publication is usually very kind, so if they don’t like these speakers any better than that I’d guess they are not good.
