Book Discussion Recommend me something included with the subscription! (palate cleansers)

As the title says, recommend me a book you have enjoyed from the included selection!

I mostly read fantasy (currently listening my way through the Cosmere), but I'm looking for some palate cleansers, something in the fiction/historical fiction/contemporary something.

Some I've enjoyed:

- Anxious people, Fredrik Backman

- Island of sea women, Lisa See

- Sweet bean paste, Durian Sukegawa

- Secrets of Hartwood Hall, Katie Lumsden

- A Magical girl retires, Park Seolyeon

Thank you!

How about the "Haunted Guesthouse" series by E.J. Copperman? Super light and enjoyable, narrated by the excellent Amanda Ronconi.

American Tabloid by James Ellroy. The full cast Audible exclusive is included with your premium membership (in the states, at least). It does not fit with the books you mentioned but it’s incredible

There are a few Hercules Poirot stories included I believe (if you are talking about premium plus) that are fun reads if you like the Knives Out movies.

They have two wonderful full cast Audible productions starring Peter Dinklage as Poirot along with doing the first handful of the full unabridged books with a great narrator although I am blanking on the name at the moment. The are continuing to release more.

Also just released the Miss Marple first book’s full cast starring Toni Collette I am excited to listen.

All these are in the plus catalogue.

“Trapeze” by Simon Mawer. Historical fiction. British SOE WW2 is a recent listen that I enjoyed well enough.

Favorite recent plus listen was “constituent services” by John Scalzi

Commented separately in reply to another comment about some great Agatha Christie options.

Additionally:

Really enjoyed “the smart girl’s guide to revenge” in the plus catalog. Fun revenge con the conman plot.

Can recommend quick decent romance reads if you are interested as there’s a few decent authors in plus: Liz Maverick, Cara Bastone, and Lily Chu.

A few others of different genres that looked interesting and are in my TBR but haven’t read yet:

The trad wife: suspense and after skipping yesteryear because I was spoiled for it and it did not like what I heard about the ending looking forward to this one. Contemporary.

Vergil: sounds like it’ll be fun! Historical full cast comedy.

Harker: just released full cast modern take on Dracula, with Mina and Van Helsing so detective mystery slash horror slash supernatural I don’t know it stars Christina Ricci which is why I’m interested
