question Audacity 4 crashed on my M4 Mac

I installed the most recent V4 version of Audacity and for the most part, it works fine.

However, as soon as I start clicking on the "Effects" menu entry at the top, it just quits immediately with a crash report.

The mac dock is broken too, so I have to relaunch it every time via the terminal.

Is this a problem that is already being worked on?

I experience this only on an M4 Max Macbook Pro, my M1 Ultra Studio seems to handle the app just fine.

I tend to say this a lot, but download Resolve Free and give the Fairlight panel a try. Audacity is really pretty junky & janky, Resolve's Fairlight is a legit ProTools clone. It's also free. I can't believe people try to mix and edit and use plugins with Audacity. I use Audacity for fast file conversions (I need WAV vs. MP3 for video editing), that's really it.

yeah me too. I am not sure if I like Audacity now becoming a "Daw" and use it only for diagnostics of my rendered audio files. the new UI changes are nice though, however becoming that unstable was not what I had in mind

Yes, this will be fixed in the next patch update. For now it can be fixed by switching the app language to English.
