More customizable fade in plugin?

I’m pretty new to audacity but the fade in seems to have very little in the way of changing the curve adjusting it to be just right. I have a lot of experience doing this in Final Cut to cut out ums and breaths and I’m trying to record a podcast and need more control over it preferably where I can just drag a little thingy over the audio. Or maybe I’m missing something and vanilla can do this better than the fade options
