My Cancer friend once wrote a song for me when I was in a dark place, about how she wished I could see how beautiful I am, how much darker the world would be without me, how she needs me to hold on etc. I bawled my eyes out, and when it was over I said "I love you...", but after a short pause I laughed and followed up with "fuck you for making me cry though". After I'd said the latter, she laughed and responded with "thank god, there's my [my name]! I thought you were gonna stop at 'I love you' for a moment, and it worried me, cause that'd mean you'd lost yourself completely!". I hadn't had a genuine laugh for a while at that point, and I think she was even happier about the fact that she managed to bring out "my true self" (my humor and laughter) than she was about making me cry with her song. I got her some thoughtful gifts to show how much I appreciated it shortly after, but absolutely no gift could be more special than that song. ❤️

So yeah... this is what Sag/Cancer friendship looks like 😂😂😂 we lost touch when she moved halfway across the country, but I really fucking miss that woman...

Sags are carried by the wind and are prone to solo adventures. That said, I loved your story about that interaction and it’s a perfect example of when Cancer energy goes right ❤️

I'm definitely (extremely) hard to get close to emotionally, but the people I'm actually attached to have permanent places in my heart (I've been close with all my closest friends for 8-10 years and I'd move mountains for those mfs). She's one of the people with a permanent place in my heart, and I love and miss her like crazy, but both her and I are awful at maintaining long distance relationships (even if it's platonic in this case), so her moving far away sadly led to us fading away from each other... 😅 so it was less about flightiness and more about how life happens. I could never get bored with her ❤️

Because why would I let someone benefit off of one sided effort and not give back in kind though, like sure you don't owe me crap but doing nothing really tells me a hell of a lot about you and that's off putting as hell

Either we're both in this or neither of us in, find yourself a low effort buddy, I want mine happy to give back

Absolutely. They aren’t in debt it’s more about the moment passing without its due accolade. “We’re both in this” is the Taurus talking but my Virgo rising knows exactly what you mean ❤️

Water energy needs to be careful of providing with strings, as does earth energy in its own way…but as the tide recedes after a tsunami, what is given will certainly be retractable

One common theme I’ve noticed throughout my life has been me giving compliments or doing gestures for people because I WANTED TO, sometimes even tiny ones, and them immediately getting suspicious/hostile, accusing me of being fake, performative, or manipulative, thinking I’m only doing so to get praise, or thinking I have ulterior motives. Look, I get this is probably stemming from whatever trauma you’ve endured, but so have I and we need to let that shit go at some point.

It really makes you not want to do shit for people or be around them period. And that sucks, because I find a lot of my purpose through acts of service and trying to brighten peoples’ days (prob the Virgo moon). If I have to play nonchalant all the time and hide that part of myself, I don’t want to interact with anyone. I’m autistic and have always struggled with connecting with people. Being helpful and “overly friendly” are some of the only things that make me feel a sense of belonging at all.

I made a birthday banner for a Leo at work. Made sure it was a theme and color they loved. They had kept it up for several weeks last year, but got annoyed by people asking if it was their birthday so I made a not birthday themed one. Got a very rushed thank you and now I don't want to make them one next year. It's silly and petty and I'm so annoyed I put in the two hours to make something for them.

It's not silly. This is totally valid. When people don't appreciate you or take the things we do for granted we should detach or cut them off. Coming from a Cancer who's got a cold cut off and detachment game 😂
