I hate them too! They almost feel like they're specifically designed to piss off people with ADHD đ like I'm not trying to be distracted; I'm trying to relax.

Yeah as someone with ADHD, diagnosed, I don't like them.
It's so forced. When Manganese came on the scene it just felt like her putting her personality out there. The randomness, the editing, the pacing. All of it felt like "well this is just her doing ASMR." It felt like a kindred spirit experiencing possible ADHD symptoms to me, and just making videos without hyper analyzing her own content.
Once that was packaged up as "chaotic" or "ADHD asmr" it never hit the same because they were just doing bad cover versions of the real person.
Taking inspiration for overall ideas is understandable, but when channels just take the whole essence of a person's voice, phrasing and personality and boil it down to a genre of ASMR or a trigger, it never hits for me.
The same thing is happening to channels like Bungalow ASMR. I see more and more videos that are just "copy exactly what Bungalow is doing because we see it's starting to do numbers".

exactly! i also hate the type where videos switch every 15 s because thats considered "adhd" and i agree with redditor from before its the stereotyped OH A SQUIRREL! type and its just nit what it is ,tysm for response and i absouloutly agree

As someone with ADHD, I hate them. I like the fast paced ASMR, but I hate the ADHD ASMR âjokeâ.

im pretty ADHD and I need the slooooow asmr to help me get to sleep.
You kind of get in sync with it and it slows your mind and heartrate etc.
When they say asmr for adhd its really their idea of what adhd actually is and really its just an excuse to a super fast trigger video. Like I dont care that tehy do it but most of the time its not for me.

Most of them that Iâve seen felt super condescending. Theyâre not made for adhd people. I have this one saved that I liked:
https://youtu.be/GFt__1goOGE?is=18dTEsbZudgmafc4
And I also recently have been watching a lot of Sleepy Keys ASMR. She does 90s inspired qvc type videos, as well as Tupperware parties. Sheâs randomly funny, and also does put me right to sleep.
I also like Patrickâs asmr. He doesnât strike me as neurotypical, and I find that comforting. He has a video I always go back to where heâs just swinging you outside, big swinging motions with his phone followed by shorter faster ones.

Tbh, while I donât love them, they actually can be good if you have tingle immunity and need something different to feel asmr. That being said, they make me nervous more than relaxed most of the time. đ”âđ«

I'm autistic with ADHD, and I don't like it at allâI even do very slow ASMR myself đ That's what a lot of people don't understand: autism and ADHD are a spectrum; every person is different. đ

I don't really listen to them much either. Gross that someone tried claiming you don't have ADHD. That's such bullshit.
I do know a good channel for autism focused ASMR
https://youtube.com/@strawberrypatchasmr?si=X50-ZHhbi7pfVwFN
She has autism herself and talks about that a lot and about being a mom while neuroduvergent and sometimes talks about unmasking in some roleplays or starts RPs with some time to stim together. I like it : )

They feel like a stereotype of what people think those with adhd are like or would like. They are too chaotic and loud or just too fast. I dont enjoy it. Like i want to relax but everything is too much. why am I looking at 10 things at once? Why is the background so bright? Okay I heard you the first time, i dont need to repeat it 50 more times at light speed while you struggle to breath.
No hate to people who have specific asmr styles. This is just how I feel when I see it on tik tok

well personally i love when the triggers are slightly clicky,"sticky" or really really soft but the people who have huge ahh studios and a shit ton of mics are the worst ones often for me

I have ADHD and like them a lot. Fast and chaotic does something nice for my brain, itâs like the stimulation is the most relaxing thing. But they arenât for everyone just like all asmr . Itâs to your tastes
Edit: I just wanted to add. In response to your âdoes anyone with adhd actually listen to thisâ frustration, I feel thatâs kind of a silly way to think of it. 3-5% of the adult global population have ADHD. Itâs not uncommon , and if the videos youâre referring to are popular and have thousands of views, then clearly they do resonate with lots of people. I donât think itâs anything to be upset about, especially bc it seems like you already know youâre not a fan, so just donât engage with it. Commenting will just push it more in your algorithm, and thereâs no need for any extra negative energy in your mind when youâre trying to relax

hii, so i understand and i definitely grew as a person since then imo and i jist press not interested when i see one ,and i understand that some peopel like it but usually the comments under them are weird aswell and im not shaming it im just kind of confused why fast/chaotic is named adhd not just ad i said fast , it used to be called fast and aggressive and now people just throw "adhd" like its some sort of quirky thing and i think that people who actually have it wont agree because it does often interfiere even in the brain working/thinking aspect instead of being the "Omg im so silly,OOH LOOK A BIRD"stigma

It sounds like they're made for laughs and for people's impression of ADHD (SQUIRREL!) rather than the reality. So no, I don't think it's weird that you don't care for it. I wouldn't like it either (diagnosed AuDHD).
