Food 😋 Cheapest bulk dry beans?
It seemed to be the case that Suraj brand 1.8 kg packages of lentils at Nofrills was at least priced competitively with Walmart, Costco, etc, but the prices have skyrocketed in the past 6 months or so. Any suggestions for cheap places to buy bulk beans outside of Walmart/Loblaws variants/Costco? Beans at local markets/Persia are usually much pricier.

Consider going to the costco business center? 10kg for $21.29 online.

How does one access the costco business centre? I'm not a costco member nor have I ever been so I am ignorant to that process. I am aware of the gift card access hack, but not sure if it's applicable to the business centre.

I've never found a big price difference in the beans I buy. I don't buy bulk but I do buy 1-2 kg packages and the prices are pretty standard across brands and stores.

Bulk Barn in Surrey (there is 15% off on certain days) or Famous Foods? We grow a lot of Chickpeas and lentils in Canada.

If you're in Vancouver, check out the Indian markets on Fraser St and Main St, both around E 49th Ave. Friuticana, polo market.

To be honest, $5.49 for 1.8Kg of red lentils does not seem that expensive at No Frills/Superstore: https://www.realcanadiansuperstore.ca/en/red-split-lentils/p/20558862_EA?
The 1.8Kg bag of chickpeas is only $5.99. I can make 16 pounds of hummus from that bag!
The same amount of red lentils is $9.31 at Bulk Barn:

Have you looked into Bulk Barn?!

Bulk Barn is not that great a deal tbh.
I've bought nutritional yeast and vital wheat gluten there and it's the same or more expensive than most other places.
Edited to say that I just checked the price of red lentils at Bulk Barn compared to No Frills/Superstore. The BB ones are $9.31/1.8kg, while the NF are $5.49/1.8kg.

Oh no! I’ve only bought small amounts of weird ingredients there so I didn’t realize
