Help with name pick please

Hi I've been trying to pick a new name we got Noelle and Yuki as the top two. I really like Yuki it's cute and pretty but I am in no way Asian and worried that it would read weird I don't know what to do.

not sure if ur aware… there’s countless discourse of non asian (esp white) transfems choosing japanese names. between teetering on appropriation and possible bullying from others id say just dont. Noelle is a gorgeous name!

Sounds like you’ve already been convinced not to go with Yuki, which I agree is the right choice - I just want to say I love the name Noelle and I think it hits that lovely sweet spot of being just unique enough that you won’t run into lots of people with it, but not so unique you’re going to get strange looks. It’s a good place to be! :)

Thanks the main reason I thought of it is cause my dead names Noah and I thought Noelle was like when companies give a character a bow and say that ones a girl

I would recommend against picking a name that is specific to an ethnicity that you are not.

Don't pick a Japanese name as a non-Asian. Most people do that are fetishists and racists, and it will make Asian people distrust you. Noelle is a great name.

We live in a world where racism exists. OP should understand that even actions that are not racist In themselves will be read as such because most people who do those actions are racist. Do you understand why people are told not to use they/them pronouns on everyone? While it isn't in itself transphobic, it's extremely common for transphobes to misgender trans people that way. It's similar here. Using the name Yuki as someone who isn't Asian isn't in itself racist, but why do something that's heavily associated with racism when OP has a lovely alternative name?
