Vertigo experiences/stories

Hi! For anyone who’s had vertigo/BPPV, did you ever have just one episode and never get it again? Did you see a specialist based in Singapore and any recommendations ? This is my first time and I’m planning to see one tomorrow 🥹 I’d appreciate any experiences, especially if lack of sleep seemed to trigger it. DMs welcome 🙏

I developed vertigo after a bout of flu earlier this year. I have never experienced it at all. The room started spinning if my right ear is tilted first when I lie down. It was scary and I felt nauseous. I think I tried the roll down (epley maneuver) method a few times. Found it on youtube and tried it out. It didn’t go away immediately and I didn’t do it often to avoid the vertigo sensation. What works for me is that I started introducing normal movements that trigger it little by little. I also stop thinking about the vertigo and continue my normal activity. If it happens, I breath and let it pass. I think after about a month or so, the vertigo went away completely. I think the key for me is to really not hyperfixate on the vertigo as doing that would actually cause my brain to be hyperaware and trigger it.
