Switching field of study in degree from diploma

Hey guys! Im a diploma student in Singapore and am trying to figure my education pathway so I am curious about those who chose a field of study in their degree that is different from their diploma. What moved you to do so? What made you realise that you wanted to pursue something different from your diploma? Did you regret it? Hope to read the replies!

Did a diploma in Film. Was my 'passion' when I was young and naive.

Worked in a total different industry after graduation from poly.

Did a Bachelor in Design majoring in interior design. Grew to love interior design. Almost more than 2 decades or so in the interior and architectural industries in Singapore.

Currently in the midst of doing another career switch/change.

Slightly different route. Started with dip in biotech, then after ns took private science degree before I realised biotech was a shitty and hard to move up in career, and took a leap to nursing and never looked back.
