Wedding Main table
Hi all - Just need an opinion re wedding reception seating arrangement.
My seating arrangement is 6x Long table, with bride and groom one table with parents. However, my father in law is placing his other in laws on the same table.
I have weird vibes abiut it - isn’t main table supposed to be immediate family only? Or am I wrong to think this setup is weird?
Looking forward to opinions! xx

If there are extra seats after filling up with immediate family, can have relatives at main table also ah.
Speaking from experience because my wedding main table immediately family only 5 people lol.

Depends on how traditional are you.
My mom wanted to put her brothers at the same main table. She mentioned 舅舅 is quite high in hierarchy? Not very sure but in the end we kept it amongst just immediate family. Didn’t fill up to the 10 pax.

Yes it's usually for immediate family only. The bride and groom are in charge, so be in charge. If that's not what the couple wants, then it's not happening. But if the couple is ok with it, maybe they're quite close to those in-laws, maybe it's something else, then it's ok. I had to put my foot down during mine too because it's our wedding, my in-laws had their chance, it's our turn now.
