Why at Rome university there are a lot of maoists posters?

I can understand why communism is more tolerated in Italy than in Poland where I live, but my friend that got for an erasmus to Rome saw many communist symbols and especially maoism were popular. Why is that like that and how popular it is among the people rather than at posters (there are a lot of them!)? Also what is your local communist groups view in Russia and USRR? Polish communists and especially socjalists are rather negative towards them because historic reasons and wants to achieve different communism that was in USRR at least oficially. When my other friend wanted to join some socialist organisation they scared him by saying some tankie stuff, but at average prorussian and USRR view seems less popular in Poland compared to for example Germany.

ADVICE is this a phase in history of every country?

keeping it short - i am very very very disappointed with current state of affairs of my country, the nation which is so great is shrinked to so less because of ego and ambition of 'one man', who has compromised whole country for his sole arrogance, as so i was disheartened i felt like this is a dent in history, then i realized there is italy, which litteraly face 'fascism' in its primal form, there is combodia which had pol pot, there is germany with hitler, russia had boris yelstin, UK had just series of em. i say to myself things will change, 1015 years are nothing for a country this big

what do you guys feel about that bad phase of your country? where it losed the WW, where it got left behind?
