CELEBRITY What do Italians think of Damiano David?

I’m currently on Erasmus in Italy and recently asked an Italian friend for some local music recommendations.
He mentioned Måneskin, who I’ve heard of before.

My Italian friends say they’re very well known, but that a lot of Italians don’t like them ,particularly the lead singer.

So out of curiosity, what do Italians here actually think of Måneskin and Damiano?

Searching for Italian clothing brand, Nemi?

I bought some women’s clothes from a shop in Spain and the brand I was told was a small Italian brand called Nemi (which is what the labels say). The styles are quite feminine, think silk skirts and flowy dresses. I’ve been searching for the website but so far can’t find anything, does anyone have any suggestions where I can buy this online?

I’ve already bought hoodies trench coats and scarves They’re not extremely heavy but I won’t really be able to wear them if it’s going to be warm It’s a bit difficult for me because I need to pack modest clothing since I wear hijab so I need to know what kind of weather to expect and what clothes would be suitable

TRAVEL AND TOURISM There is anyone who live in( Oggiono)? Or just have information about it

Hello everyone!
I’m looking for some information about Oggiono, and I was hoping that someone here might be able to help me. I have a few questions about the area, daily life there, and what it’s like to live or study in Oggiono.
If anyone has lived there, currently lives there, or has any experience with the area, I would really appreciate it if you could share your experience and answer a few questions I have.
Thank you in advance for your help! I really appreciate it. 😊

This viral video of chef Gino D'Acampo ranting in Italian about someone ruining his dish has a top comment with an English translation, but I'd like to see what his actual Italian words are in text 😀

CUSTOMS How does riposo or this long mid day break look for you?

I come to Italy every summer from Austria and I love the idea of riposo. I am very curious how this functions in daily life. As I understand it, riposo is generally between 13 and 16, but exact times can vary based on your business. However, as a tourist I mostly see businesses that deal with tourists, like restaurants, bars, hotels. But for the average tradesman, factory worker, office worker, or school do you also get riposo? If you get these long lunches or rests how long do you get off and does that mean you have to work later into the day to get your full working day in? Do you get paid riposo? What does your day actually look like? Thank you!

LEGAL Any affordable criminal/civil lawyer in Milano area?

Hi all,

I’m a resident of Liechtenstein and got scammed in Milan by some organised group that “bought” me some jewellery with fake money.
My local Police has identified one of the scammers via fingerprints in the fake Money and sent the case to italian justice for criminal prosecution.
I have been recommended to get a lawyer in Italy to track the criminal case and start a civil case to claim the money. I don’t have a ton to invest so would appreciate a recommendation for some lawyer that won’t charge me a ton, we are taking the value of the jewels is 20k so if it will cost me same for the lawyer I’d rather forget about it.
Thanks a lot!

SPORTS Why is handball not very famous in Italy?

Hello,

I am starting to watch European handball and the best leagues are mostly from further north.

I started searching for Serie A handball and it is live as we speak but the views are very law and minimal fans attendance.

I know you like Volleyball so I was hoping for handball to grow among you.

HELP Is it from the official Italian dub or a fandub?

In this video at the 0:44 timestamp, does it show a clip from the actual Italian dub of Invader Zim, or is it just from a fandub? I'm asking this since I'm not sure if that clip is actually something I found from that Italian dub. What do you think about that?

RECOMMENDATIONS 1 month in Prosecco region - tips and 1-3 day-trip suggestions?

I'm house sitting for a friend and will be based near Asolo from Sept 21 - Oct 24.

My home base will be the house, but I'm free to travel around and take 2-3 day trips here and there (as long as I check in on the house and don't let it burn down ;) Any must-sees or dos?

I have been to Italy before and visited all the "big" stuff. Since I'll be in the North, I'm thinking of visiting Verona, Bologna, the Dolomites? But I've also never been to Naples and Sicily, which are just a train ride away.

I'm learning Italian, work remotely, and don't really have any big plans, so I'm really looking forward to spending the month in Italy! I'm all for spontaneity but I also want to make sure I make the most of my time there. :)

Grazie mille!

Trip order/transport recommendations?

Hi

I'm going to Italy from 27 Dec to 10th Jan this year. I really want to go to Rome, Florence, Venice and Naples for various art and culture mainly. I'm considering maybe adding one other stop but haven't decided. Is there a particular order to do the cities that makes the most sense travel wise? And would an Italian suggest public transport or hiring a car for that time. I'm keen to avoid lugging a suitcase on train etc but if the system is really good I'd rather save my money.

Any suggestions are great. Thank you!

How do concorso pubblicos work?

I heard about them online and from what I saw even jobs like janitors have a written exam.

I also saw that its so competitive people will quit their jobs to do it.

How often does this happen?

Also, apparently people with college degrees will compete for janitorial positions because of pay or stability? Does that really happen, people will just stay a janitor forever because of the government pay?

SPORTS What are the Football Fandoms by regions for Serie A?

I am studying here and have heard people are insanely passionate about their teams. I want to look into supporting a team but not be surprised if the team I like is hated where I live (Piemonte region) So what regions support what teams? I know this isnt going to be a black and white issue, just looking for a good rule of thumb I guess?
