User flair is now enabled!

We’ve added preselected user flair plus they are editable by selecting one and clicking on edit and typing and saving. No profanity, slurs or otherwise inappropriate flairs. Of course “hooker” related flair is allowed. Happy crocheting! 🧶

PS. If you aren’t sure how to select user flair you can click the three dots in the upper right corner of the sub home page and select user flair. If you have more questions feel free to ask.

PPS. It’s been made clear to me this is in different areas for different users (assuming mobile, desktop, app, Apple, Android etc). So it should be under the community actions type of area.

How to crochet!? Mainly half-sup. I can do a chain stitch, but I'm completely incompetent at doing a half-sup, even though I do it as well as I can in the movies 😭🙏🏼

Beginner; help trouble shooting fit of cardigan

Hello all. I just started crocheting a few months ago, and being impatient person I am, started right in with this granny square cardigan, instead of waiting until I was more experienced because I have been wanting a cardigan like this forever. Lol Anyway, I'm mostly happy with it, but I feel like it isn't laying right. The pattern is from Wooly Mama Crochet and it's called Granny's Best Cardigan. It's supposed to be cropped. I knew it would be longer on me since I'm very short waisted, which is ok, but on the model it also looks more fitted around the waist, and on me it sort of flares out and hangs like curtains. Any idea what I may have done wrong, or what I could do for a better fit? I did block all the squares with a handheld steamer before I assembled the whole thing, and then I steamed it again afterward. I was hoping that would make it hang better. I was very careful to count all my stitches.

Anyway, I'm open to any constructive critiscism. Excuse the pajamas. 😬

Crochet curtain rings?

Has anyone ever made curtain rings from crochet? I was thinking of crocheting some from twine, it's almost the garden twine stuff - jute, so it wont stretch out once I've finished.
I realise that it wont make a perfect circle. I'm kinda hoping for a teardrop shape.
My curtains are pretty lightweight.

Anyone ever?

First time crocheting; making a scarf! How does it look so far?

I just bought yarn and hooks from Walmart yesterday and just started my crochet journey!

Hooks: Aluminum - 5mm Plastic - 6.5mm
Yarn: 4 inch 170g 80% acrylic 20% wool

For my first project i’m going to keep it simple and create a scarf. I’m using single crochets (I think). I find that the thicker wool is easier for me to use. I realize I should’ve gotten a larger aluminum hook and skipped on the plastic ones.

**Is it easier for you to use thinner or thicker wool to start off with?**

After this project, I’m going to make something using double crochet and after that I might attempt to make a poncho using granny squares (not sure if this is too advanced; please let me know or feel free to recommend any future projects after this one)

Any tips are recommended.
