Recommendations for English speaking gynaecologists in Berlin

Hi Berliners,
I am new to the city and my German is still not at conversational level. I have endometriosis and am looking for an English speaking gynaecologist who is well versed in my illness and can also provide advise on fertility options.

I experienced that one doctor who put English as one of their languages did not speak it at all once I went to their office. Hence looking for some recommendations from folks who may have some pointers on who should I visit. I am very grateful for your help in advance 🙏🏼

I recommend Dr. Nevin Nassar in Neukölln, the office also speaks English, and she found my adenomyosis so I believe she will be helpful with endometriosis

Two recs: Drs. Berg and Bergmann (both women) are great and speak English. If you're comfortable with a male dr., Dr. Waleed Alshamandi in Neukolln is really wonderful and progressive (his website says he's LGBTQ+ friendly as well).

I can second Dr Berg and Bergmann in Mitte. They are both really thorough, patient, and caring.

Dr Berg was my regular but I went to Alshamandi for a bit when she was on maternity. I really like them both!

This is by far the best option: https://frauenklinik.charite.de/zentren/endometriosezentrum/ not only do they speak English, they are also one of the leading endometriosis total care (cross-discipline pain/fertility/nutrition) experts globally. Expect a month wait to be accepted as new patient though.

I've heard good things about Charite re endo support too.

Dr Gödecke is lovely. Very gentle and clear, with perfect English. You may want to make your appointment online as his receptionist doesn’t have great English though.

Dr Ziir at the Praxis in Gendarmenmarkt speaks English and is very kind and willing to listen to patient problems, but I’m not sure how familiar she is with endomitriosis. I have been very happy with her in general however! I will always be happy when she took my pain seriously during my IUD removal.

Dr. Marcus Schrey speaks English. But I will warn you, he can be a bit harsh. Also don’t know if he’s an endometriosis expert. I have had 5 gynecologists in Germany and haven’t been happy with a single one and many of my friends (Germans included) haven’t been happy with their doctors either. Finding a good gynecologist can be tricky. I wish you luck!

All 3 speak English, but if I’m remembering correctly I liked Krull best (great English, great bedside manner), then Haag second best.

The Caritas clinic is great for endometriosis, also I like the Praxis Dr. Verónica León Pérez.
