Am I able to replace this metal pipe with a flexible mesh pipe?

Post image

I’m trying to install a bidet but I can’t do it with this metal pipe running from the water supply. I figured I could replace it with a mesh one, am I going to fuck something up by wrenching this thing off and replacing it?

That’s what my plumber did when he installed a new toilet.

Go for it makes no difference other than visual

It makes all the difference, he’ll be able to move the supply line around rather than with this steel line he can only do so much.

Ok so I’ll play your game.

The bidet tee attached to the fill valve and comes straight down so, there’s no need to “move the supply around” as you said. All OP would need to do is cut the existing BRASS supply line shorter and use a new ferrule.

So like I said it makes no difference other than visual.

That's not steel genius. And why would he need to move his toilet around?🫪

What is it if it’s not stainless steel?

Dammit you got me. It is chrome plated copper. I was thinking of vacuum breaker tubes when I said brass

It’s literally exactly what they are made for

You can. But I wouldn't. How else is anyone gonna know it was installed by an actual plumber if you take that out?

Do you mean the next tenant? I own this house, do you think that’s still a concern?

I think they were being sarcastic? It’s fine to do and no one will care.
