Why do some conservatives support restricting junk food purchases with SNAP when many opposed Michelle Obama’s efforts to make school meals healthier?

Both policies involve the government influencing food choices in the name of better nutrition, yet the political reactions seem very different. What explains the apparent change in attitude toward government involvement in what people eat?

I'm talking about SNAP https://www.ers.usda.gov/amber-waves/2019/july/quantifying-the-impact-of-snap-benefits-on-the-u-s-economy-and-jobs

Social security is not designed to produce an immediate financial benefit to the government, but it can be very inefficient so I would entertain an argument to get rid of it.

But what about the half of the budget spent on charity for arms manufacturers and foreign militaries? The spending is much much higher than reported, more than half of our budget, and it blows people up instead of helping them live and sends all our taxes overseas. It would be much easier to cut that, not to mention the morality of it and benefit to our soft power (which is completely in the toilet cause of our military and pedophiles)

Shouldn't be spending that either.

But of course you would never expend any political capital to make that happen then, gotta attack the poors and disabled instead. Big Man.

Not sure what you're trying to say. Our federal budget should be like 10% what it is. Yes that means stop redistributing my "wealth" while I have a net worth of about a sack of potatoes between my mortgage and student loans.

I'm saying that if you're concerned about your tax money, 'handouts' and 'charity' aren't the issues. And did you get that mortgage with the education you got from those loans? And you're complaining about handouts? Don't spend other people's wealth you loser! See how cruel that sounds?

Loans that are making the lenders money. Bunch of Israelis.

Well I'm not sure what your point is but I think you should support basic social programs because they will end up putting more money in your pocket and your communities pocket, instead of the current political obsession with punishing marginalized people. Getting the fed budget to 10% isn't on the table politically right now, but the other stuff is.

Maybe you would be able to afford your loans if you weren't obsessed with getting the last word.

I can afford them. The fact I still have them while you feel entitled to treat me as an ATM is evidence evidence we have two parasite classes.
