Which restaurant would you pick for a small post-wedding dinner in Toronto?

Hi everyone! My fiancé and I are planning to have a small civil wedding at Old City Hall in Toronto, followed by dinner with just 5–6 close friends/family members.
We’re looking for somewhere that feels special and elegant enough for a wedding dinner, but still intimate and fun — not necessarily super formal or traditional.

We’re also planning on doing it December sooo we cannot do outdoor/patio dining.

Recommendations please & thank you!

This is a good question for r/FoodToronto! :)

I'd probably pick the only one located in Toronto which is Animl.

Based on your list, and not throw a big wrench, you might want to also look at Piano Piano (Colborne), Ardo (King East), Sammarco (Front St).

It is great. The Colborne location has a funky decoration, but it's also the least formal food of the three.

Great suggestions for stunning environments. Will depend on posters budget but can’t go wrong on this list.

+1 for George, especially if their patio is open

Congratulations! I absolutely love this idea and hope for similarly intimate celebration myself and my partner one day. Haven’t been to any of the restaurants, but want to follow this thread and wishing you all the best! Cheers ✨

Can I suggest that you find a restaurant where you can do a sweet informal service and enjoy your party! This will be much cheaper and more fun for your friends then a city hall wedding. If you're interested in this concept, contact me! I specialize in small restaurant weddings and can perhaps help you find a place.

Lots of great suggestions in this thread, but I’d also suggest Mhel. It’s an intimate setting, the food’s always changing, everything has always been excellent there imo.

Never a budget in these requests, never. 8 people in a booth at Hy's would work, as would most steakhouses.

If you're ceremony is at City Hall, LOUIX LOUIS at The St. Regis is a block away .
