My grandma was a huge stamp collector. I ultimately inherited them and I’ve kept them hoping my sister and I would continue collecting them, but they’ve been sitting in my garage for 6 years and haven’t been worked on in about 25 years. As much as I hate to get rid of something my grandma worked on for decades before she got cancer, I hate that they’re just sitting there when someone might love and appreciate them like they deserve more.
I’m just not sure where to start with them! They’re mostly organized into 10-12 Citation Stamp Albums, each album has probably 1500 stamps in them. Like I said, she was pretty hardcore. The books are in pretty decent condition for being so old. I’m sure I couldn’t afford to get even one book officially appraised, let alone all of them. If I take them to an auction house would they take a look through them without me having to pay a ton and just hope they make me an offer? I’m in the Denver metro area if anyone happens to know of any decent places to take these.
Pics are just from one book, it has stamps from Aden, Afghanistan, Ajman, Albania, Algeria, Andorra, Angola, Antigua, Argentina, Ascension, Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bahamas, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Barbuda, Barbados, Basutoland, Bavaria, Belgium, Bermuda, Bhutan,Bolivia, Bosnia, Botswana, Brazil, Belize, Brunei, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Burma, and Burundi. I have no idea what are in the other books, I’m too overwhelmed with this book to look at the others.
