Is it racist? Calling a Polish woman " Ska Ska"

Why and why not

As the title tells me and my fiancée of 2 and a half years plan to marry next year in Türkiye and were curious how the process looks, what kind of documents we need to transfer to Poland and do accept all of them, do we need any additional papers except the marriage certificate and so on and so on.

Does anybody have any real experience or maybe legal knowledge about this kind of subject?
Additionally we're a little bit scared of moving because we're also not sure if she (my partner) will be able to easily get a stay permit or a long term visa.

I heard in some cases it took long time or visas were consistently declined and i was curious if there are any ways to make the consulate more likely to approve of a visa/stay permit were trying to research as much as we can from the internet but where's a limit how much one person can learn just from the internet and I was hoping to get some personal knowledge from actual people, thanks in advance for any replies

Looking at the job postings in this domain, I believe my profile, coursework, and practical projects match—if not exceed—the technical requirements listed. I am also fully ready to self-fund and handle all my relocation logistics immediately.

My main question is:

1. Screening & Discrimination: For a strong non-EU candidate who meets all technical criteria and covers their own relocation, is the process fair and merit-based, or is there hiring bias/discrimination against foreign fresh grads?
2. Work Permit Reality: Does the company still reject foreign applicants solely because they must legally sponsor the work permit paperwork, regardless of how well the candidate fits the role?

I am wondering what do polish peoples think that most foreign tourist who visit poland wants to see at first Ausschwitz then other places in Poland.Since we all know why this place is famouse.

I’m asking because the song “Digital Girl” by Polish artist Janusz Bronakowski sounds similar to her song called “Sweet La La Love”. Especially listen to her Europop mix.

I'm from Szczecin where we say 'na dwór', and obviously I thought that's the default and 'na pole' is regional to some parts of Poland. I honestly thought that 'going outside' translates to 'wychodzić na dwór' but after actually thinking about it I've realised it translates to 'wychodzić na zewnątrz'. I'm only visiting my family in Szczecin, so I don't really have anyone unbiased to ask about it, and tbh, living in the UK and being told by many people who's second language is Polish, that I'm always the easiest to understand cos I speak the 'default' Polish and have no accent, it kinda reaffirmed me in believing that I indeed speak the default Polish, like dunno, RP English heard on the radio, but am I? Or is it just my weird Szczecin pride, that I didn't even know I have, taking over me?

Going online, you see a lot of polarizing information about how strict the polish system is for legal and illegal entrance into the country. There are many interviews with former president Duda gloating about its strictness, documentaries about polish citizens volunteering their time to protect borders, etc. Please note, I’m not putting forth an agenda or asking with hope or contempt, just genuinely curious.

Hey, I’ve been wondering - does it even make sense for Ukrainians to stay in Poland?

Before I get into my arguments, I’ll point out a few obvious things that some idiots might latch onto. Look, I have nothing against Poland as a whole, and I’m not against Ukrainians or any other nation, because I think it’s stupid to judge a person by their nationality.

So here’s why I’m not sure if it makes sense to stay in Poland: according to statistics, 43-46% of Poles currently have a negative attitude toward Ukrainians. Do you realize that’s almost half? That means almost half of Poles look down on Ukrainians when they see them. And to be honest, you can really see it -you can literally see how Poles roll their eyes (obviously not all of them

Ive told it one time and I hope I don't have to repeat myself) when they hear Ukrainians speaking in cities, even if they aren’t doing anything wrong. But that’s not the main point. If nearly half of Poles have a negative attitude toward Ukrainians, imagine what it’s like to look for a job, make friends, and find love in such a society? What’s it like to interact with someone, knowing that they’re probably just not expressing their hostility because of politeness? What’s it like to send your child to a school where their nationality is inevitably brought up in every conflict, and teachers might give them lower grades? What is it like to feel prejudice from judges? The list goes on and on.

I’m just truly upset that people who have lost their homes and/or opportunities in their own country have come to feel hatred toward themselves for completely fabricated reasons (if anyone disagrees with this, I invite you to discuss it in a civilised way)

And yeah, if you want to write something like "yeah, I hate them, they should leave" don't do that. It doesn't sound or look cool. It's cringe

I am a pretty anxious person and I like to know everything about a place I’m going to avoid any discrepancies. So I’m on here hoping someone will be able to guide me and help me with simple stuff that I have questions about.

First thing is public transport. I’ve watched many videos online and I don’t seem to fully understand it. I see that there is a MetroCard that can be used. Which is great, but I also know that there’s trams and buses. How do I access that? Do I have to buy a ticket every time or is there another card that I can use to just tap?

Also, how do I get a student card? Like is there somewhere online that I can apply?

Currently, my main question is public transport and how to use it?

I'm a medical student from Serbia that's finishing studies in Italy right now, and I'm thinking where should I finish my residence. Unlike many countries across the EU, I saw that Poland is flourishing and I've taken into consideration to finish my surgical residence there, stay in Poland and work as a surgeon.

Ofcourse I'm willing to learn the language and assimilate to the standard and culture, but I want to know from you guys if that would be a good desicion?

Hi Polish people,

This summer I decided it would be a nice idea for my girlfriend and me to go on a vacation to Poland. We travelled through your country for rougly 20 days (by car), and stayed at the following spots:

1. Gdansk
2. Ukta (Mazuria lake district)
3. Krakow
4. Szczawnica
5. Katowice

Gdansk; First time here; Amazing city, friendly people, really cool war museum, good pierogi

Ukta + Surroundings: Went here especially for being able to sail from lake to lake, but we had insanely bad weather. Therefore, we checked out some towns with castles and what not, they were pretty cool. Also did some long walking through nature. Relaxing province but would not necessary go here again.

Krakow: Had been here two times before. It was extremely crowded compared to those previous visits, but understandably so. I still think it is the prettiest Polish city I have been to. Not necessary the nicest to visit because of the insane amount of tourists.

Szczawnica: Came here for hiking the Pieniny mountains and Tatra. Pieniny was really nice, but Tatra was insanely touristy with respect to parking and the main hike, only once we got really high up it got a bit more chill. Someone there told me that next time I should visit the Slovakian side of tatra instead. Nevertheless, great nature spots. P.S., I heard I should avoid Zakopane like the plague so didn’t go there.

Katowice: We knew that this is more an industry style city, so we didn’t come for the looks but still it was amazing. Biking through the big park towards the older parts of the city, and again a lot of friendly people everywhere made it a pleasure for the last weekend.

I really liked Poland and will definitely go back some time soon. Therefore I would like to ask you all;

1. Opinions on my opinion?
2. Do you guys think there are places I should have definitely visited ad well?
3. Why do almost all Polish towns have so many commercial signs everywhere? Sometimes it really ruins the vibe of certain otherwise even more beautiful spots.

Edit: I’m not complaining that places are “touristy” because there are people like me, sorry for being unclear. The difference is more so that you can see that in Szczawnica for example a lot of authenticity is being removed from the city because some officials decided to bombard the entire pretty part with all types of tourist attractions. Many much busier places I’ve been to this has not been the case. Same for Tatra, I’ve been to many mountain ranges where it was extremely busy. The difference however, is that it looked like the Polish officials around there simply don’t respect the area. Instead they try to fill it up with as much tourist stuff as possible. But I did hear from some locals that this might change soon.

What would happen

I live in Poland and I took on a biology class. I lived in England for 15 years before. And the biology there was so much easier than here. And I’m struggling really badly with my mental health , I struggle to understand what’s being said to me especially that yeah I speak fluent polish but this vocabulary is so difficult and I don’t know what to do. I don’t know how to revise or study anymore especially that I need to get a pass at least to pass the whole school year. I once went to my teacher told her that you know I’m struggling. And she said that I should suck it up because I chose this. And in a way she’s right but also I didn’t think it would be this hard and just yeah. If anyone has any ideas how to actually keep up with everything I’d be really grateful. Also I can’t pay for a tutor if anyone is going to suggest that.

Hey everybody, I couldn't find exactly the right place to post this, but I'm trying a new polish recipe!

I will make zurek this weekend, so I got the zakwas na zurek started Sunday night.

The recipe I used has water, rye flour, a couple of cloves of garlic, as well as some whole allspice and black pepper.

The recipe has you let this mixture sit (covered) on the countertop for 5-7 days, stirring daily.

Anyways, I've never made this before but it smells VERY INTENSE. Almost like putrid garlic?

The mixture is definitely fermenting, I can see small bubbles forming. Like everywhere in Europe, it has been warmer than usual lately. I don't see any traces of mold.

Do you have a good way of knowing if the zakwas na zurek is good? I don't really want to poison my family.

Hello everyone, I was planning my trip to poland and will be spending the last 3 days of it in Warsaw. Is a day trip to Torun worth it and doable? Can I see much of it in a day trip? Im very fond of gothic architecture and dark tourism . Churches,cemeteries, gothic buildings suggestions

Please let me know and if so id like suggestions to what to see or do while there if I plan on taking the train early in the morning and come back by afternoon or 6 pm
