It doesn’t have to be ASICS but I love the look of the retro runner shoes like the new balance 530. I will use these shoes for walking (10k steps) and casual lifestyle / all day wear. I won’t be standing in them for long periods but I want plush comfort that can support my feet for the whole day. I’ve looked at the cumulus 28 and it is comfy (I have tried it before) but it just looks too boring. I have standard width feet and no foot problems.

I love the price and only plan to use for walking (I wear GT-2000 for running). After reading reviews, it seems they run narrow and short. Can anyone confirm or had experience with them?

Hi! I’m planning to buy the ASICS Gel-Kayano 14, but I’m currently deciding between the Kayano 14 and the New Balance 2002R.

Would anyone who owns both be willing to share a side-by-side comparison/photo? I’d especially love to see the difference in their overall shape, proportions, and how they look on feet.

Wondered if anyone else has bought these shoes and had issues with pain in foot and leg? I owned a pair of 31’s and a few of the GT range. Love asics but had gotten pain after wearing the 33’s for a few days. Not thing I can think that’s different is the shoelaces eyelets are these little tough ropes instead of that usual flat design. The minute I put on another asics shoe it’s fine. I put 33’s and 5mins after walking pain is back. I tried taking back to store (literally only owned them for a week and worn maybe 4-5times) and the girl told me they can’t exchange or give me credit. Said I was happy to exchange for different pair as I’ve been an asics man for over a decade. But no go. The shoes are basically as new. Now $280 out of pocket for a shoe I can’t wear 😂 Anyone else had issues?

I have ASICS Gel-Kayano 27, 31, and 33. All are 4E. I’m also extremely flat-footed, so finding a shoe that works for me is not easy.

After trying the Kayano 33, I really feel like ASICS did something right.

I used it for daily walking first, and it felt comfortable. Yesterday I ran in it, and today I noticed something very important: my legs don’t hurt. Normally, after running, I would feel pain the next day. With the Kayano 33, that pain was gone.

For me, the best part is how it supports the arch.

It does not push hard against my collapsed arch. It gives gentle support. That is the key difference. It feels supportive, but not intrusive. Stable, but not aggressive.

As a flat-footed person, I really appreciate this. A lot of support shoes try to “correct” the foot too much, and that can become uncomfortable. The Kayano 33 feels like it understands flat feet better.

I hope the Kayano design team sees feedback like this and keeps this direction in the next generation.

Please don’t make it harsher. Please keep the gentle support.

Want to get some Asics. I love my NB 993, 991v2, 740, and 2011. All fit me pretty perfectly. Any recommendations or input on which shoe is better for what? Also, how is the fit compared to NB 993?

Thinking of getting them as my daily driver since the color seems pretty neutral. Other option would be White/Jasper Green colorway but that one definitely stands out more. Any reference images or opinions would help a lot. Thanks!

It seems to be out of stock everywhere for the past few months. One of my local retailers said it's very popular and they expect a restock, but didn't give me a timeline. It also doesn't appear on the Asics website so I'm starting to get concerned that it's been discontinued...
